  1. I used to listen and vote every month, but gave it a rest and never dropped back in. Will endeavour to do so again. But this does reflect on what @bubinga5says in the OP that there does seem to be an apathy towards new music on here.
  2. Come on. Yes, you have a point, but you don't really need to make it (again). Lots of lovely Doobie Brothers, Michael Franks vibes going on. Sure it isn't breaking new ground but it is nice, good quality stuff.
  3. That cat of yours has done it a fine relic job there 😏
  4. Don't worry! I think my phrase getting into is possibly not quite as hardcore as it could be for some. I've just been hearing something more in what they have been playing on the radio than I've heard before and I like it.
  5. I think Friday is one of those unfortunate songs that has become a victim of its own success. A very cleverly crafted piece that just gets played way too often (but then I've made no excuses for being a fan of our and out pop music).
  6. It was a single, In Between Days that really caught my ear the other day.
  7. Bit of a curve ball for me as I'm more soul and groove oriented music, but keep hearing Cure tracks on 6 Music and the more I hear them the more I like them. Any particular album recommendations from any fans out there please?
  8. This. The Rolling Stones with just Mick and Keith still make it in my book, but without an important original (or early replacement) member (Yardbirds) then it's just a tribute act.
  9. One of the biggest bands of that period for international sales was RHCP, and there is no doubt that Flea had a huge impact on bass at the time. So whatever his main bass was - Modulus?
  10. Of course, I'm forgetting Gary is putting his bass back through the headphones. Schoolboy error here (I always play unplugged so was only considering the signal from the music source).
  11. Question @ped @PaulThePlug why does lag/latency matter when using headphones for practice? Surely the delay isn't critical In this application, unlike when playing along with others?
  12. Whoops, thanks @PaulThePlug- shows how out of touch with popular culture I am (and the person who posted the likeness on Twitter earlier today)!!
  13. Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson heavily borrowed his stage act from this gentleman:
  14. I'll see if I can put them on tomorrow - been getting used to the new bass with the strings that were already on it.
  15. He might not thank me for this, but our own @Andyjr1515 has done some intricate inlay work if you feel it needs to be removed.
  16. Or Newtone who get a lot of love on here. Will do custom sets at sensible prices.
  17. https://www.rotosound.com/product/rs66lh/
  18. Saw Depeche Mode at Hammersmith Odeon 1984 or 85. Two of them had buckets on stage. Wasn't a very good gig, but I'm not sure if that was down to them being ill or being Depeche Mode...
  19. The very sad news about Wilko Johnson brought this thread back to mind. For pub bands I'd say he is a much better benchmark rhythm guitarist than Nile.
  20. OK, going to do this off the top of my head, as, like many others, it will change on an hourly basis: Mozart Grand Mass in Cm Donna Summer McArthur Park Duke Ellington Take the A Train Working Week Inner City Blues Bob Marley No Woman No Cry Dust Springfield Just a Little Loving Ray Charles Georgia on my Mind Aretha Franklin I Never Loved a Man Book is a tough one, as I've only ever re-read one book. I'll go for Khaled Hosseini A Thousand Splendid Suns Luxury item a camera.
  21. The most amazing thing is 1900+ feedback, 100% positive 🤨
  22. Was actually very surprised as to how successful they were when I had a look before leaping to their defence.
