  1. My favourite of his covers from that period although most go for his version of Hurt.
  2. 90 million albums sold worldwide, September over a billion streams on Spotify. Yes, they really need to lose those falsettos 😎
  3. Quite liked the original version of this (Thom Yorke's side project) but Dennis Bovell has really moved it up to another level. Not the most Reggae of offerings on here, but it is Bovell and I like it!
  4. Part of the problem could be in the name they give themselves - lead guitarist.
  5. Do love my 2 1x12s, although very different on style to yours (quite coloured I'd imagine - Purple Chili). I have found that acoustic guitar through bass amp/speakers sounds way better than through an electric guitar amp, even without the near PA quality of your speakers.
  6. I just came on here to recommend our very own @Bart Funk Bass. He posts some great bass lines - often quite repetitive patterns that are easy to get your head and fingers around. All very clearly presented, well worth a visit.
  7. Saw these guys at the Cricketers many years ago. Nice, more recent clip showing that Jim still has his chops:
  8. I do believe @Dad3353is a bit of a Hofner knowledge base - hopefully he'll have some ideas.
  9. Hi Beams on order. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Plenty there if the DRs don't work out.
  10. This and your previous post rings so true with me. The other problem I have is that I want to play different styles, so would ideally be in multiple bands, and that just isn't going to happen. @BigRedXfully appreciate where you are coming from. I've admired your determination and your work (even bought a Terrortones CD) but what you have done requires a level of tenacity that I doubt many of us can muster!
  11. Scores high on the zing factor but fails badly (in my previous experience) on the other two required factors!
  12. Used to like DR guitar strings, so these are on the shortlist.
  13. Looking for a contrast to my d'addario chrome strung p bass. I'm looking for bright, long lasting round wounds that are easy on the plucking fingers. What do you recommend? Coated? Nickel?
  14. Not just the drums that will bury you, but the bottom end of the guitar will fill your sonic space. The other big difference is how bass sounds out in the audience compared to how it sounds on stage. Don't get too worried if it doesn't sound great when you stand next to the cab, it's what the punters hear that really counts.
  15. If we're not careful, moisturiser could become the next holy grail for tone! In all seriousness, I'm a big admirer of these recycled, repurposed builds. Hats off to you
  16. Bought this for some lockdown fun but ended up just using it as a recording input device, so time to move it on. Loads of great stuff, including the legendary Digitech Whammy - just don't ask me how to work it 😟 In very good used condition, no box. Generic replacement PSU works but should be replaced as there is a small crack in it and a bit of loose plastic rattling about inside. Checked eBay sold prices and set mine accordingly. Includes UK postage.
  17. I bought this as a backup when I went on tour pre-lockdown. It didn't get used then, and apart from a bit of home noodling it hasn't seen any action. In mint condition, plays really nicely, comfy neck - nut width 47.5mm, 19mm spacing, 34" scale. Checked eBay prices so hope I've set this fairly. Case and courier up for discussion.
  18. It was originally the track he called Fleetwood Mac. But yes, Peter hated the limelight, especially in the later years. Which is a great shame as he still had a great talent which just needed the right setting to blossom. Both me and @mybasscan attest to the sad fact that the right setting wasn't what he got.
  19. There has been a lot of research on noise cancelling and noise reduction for clubs and outdoor events allowing people to continue to enjoy live and electronic music where it may have been banned previously. Something we should support as musicians.
  20. @Barking Spiderssee above for the first question. The tape box in question was from a jam session they did during a John Mayall recording when McVie, Fleetwood and Green were in the Bluesbreakers. Can't answer the second.
  21. Absolutely - to most people it is all about Buckingham and Nicks (even when Christine McVie was singing). The two originals were just the happy accident of a name being written on a tape box in the studio.
