    @Nail Soup 'Vamp 'til ready' - opening chords/riff/rhythm used by old time dance bands to keep dancers on the floor until the lead instrument/singer is ready to come in with the tune.

    As much as it sounds hard to believe nowadays, Capital Radio. Nicky Horn with Your Mother Wouldn't Like it, Alexis Korner, Adrian Love, Roger Scott, Dave Cash - all big music lovers who would champion their favourite artists.

    BIG vocal! Very different to a lot of reggae vocal styles, and I was amazed when it was announced as Ken Boothe.

    I'd like to think that Karen Carpenter would have achieved the same status as Dolly Parton and Abba, with people realising how good she really was. Hendrix would be dealing with the problem of wild parakeets taking over London's parkland.

    Squeeze would be my favourite example of humour in music. I also do like a lot of comedy music - Peter Sellers 'Balham', Flanders and Swann, Trimmer and Jenkins, and I don't think the profanity filter will allow me to post the wonderful Dilly Keane.

    Just goes to show, like so many things, charisma means different things to different people. I'm not a fan, but sold hundreds of his albums to his huge, loyal fan base who are completely devoted to him. To them he must have charisma by the bucketful.
