Max Bygraves You're a Pink Toothbrush...

But that is sort of my point. Bass is not a vanity instrument, therefore, it shouldn't matter to bass players when people don't highlight it for praise. We know it wouldn't be as good without us!

Short answer, No. Longer answer: One of the most highly appreciated songwriters of all times. His bass lines were an integral part of that songwriting process. So even if Jo(e) Public don't jump up and down hailing his bass playing it doesn't mean it is under appreciated. And that's from someone who really doesn't care much for the Beatles.

Saw Miles do a solo gig in Liverpool promoting new material. One drunk constantly heckled for Size. 'for some people it will always be 19 fxxcking 91' was his response. And yes, the late Martin Gilkes was a great live drummer. -

He had another dance hit in an earlier period with I Thought it Was You. Both that and Rockit were very different to his amazing Jazz repertoire! -

Not trying to be the cool hipster here, but I genuinely loved Frank when it came out. Must dig it back out to see how it has aged. -

This. Even if not excessive volume, your ears are probably looking for a rest. -

Wonderstuff Dizzy. Pretty sure a large number of people who know that don't even know Size of a Cow. -

How come The Beatles are rarely ever played on the radio?

OK, from previous record company experience (and I've just checked and it is still the case) - nearly all music is broadcast through a license with PPL. There is no negotiating fees for radio stations for individual tracks*, so it is not a cost issue. *There may be one or two exceptions, but I've checked and the Beatles are not one of them. -
Fascinating (and excellent) build @Andyjr1515. Congratulations!

Whatever they were I'm pretty sure some will still be fitted and in use

Wrong answer - and let's hope @BigRedX doesn't see this (oops). -

The Carpenters. Neither of them could come up with a decent dovetail joint. -
Bootsy could be the kit man.

Can anybody identify this bass.Looks like a Peavey but...

Those mods work really well. Looks great. -
I'm probably not your target audience, but two reviewers get it very right in my book, our very own @Dood and the Bass Whisperer. They demonstrate the gear, not their chops or ego. Go along their lines and I'll watch next time I'm in the market for a pedal.

BB King & the Crusaders Live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Must be on it as I was sitting directly under the audience mic. John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers 70th Birthday Concert - on the CD, DVD and TV credits.

Celestion. Sorry, can't be more specific. The company are still active, so might be worth popping them an email if you need more details.

I had a friend bashing away late at night on her keyboard with headphones on. She heard a neighbour knocking on a wall and started to get cross that they were doing this late at night. After it went on for a bit longer she took her headphones off to discover they hadn't been plugged in 😄

Talk to your neighbours. Tell them what to expect, let them know it won't be late, or long hours. I'd imagine your bass will be the hardest one for them to cope with - at least with the piano they'll hear a bit of a tune. So do anything you can do to keep your volume down as much as possible (headphones, unplugged), and tell them that you are doing this. You are allowed to make some noise, and as long as you are being considerate they really shouldn't mind.
