  1. No, tried to help her with a side project, then Curved Air decided to get back together, did Isle of Wight, but someone had a big issue with Sonja having someone working for her. So petty I quietly backed out. You are right about Francis though, shame he didn't want to be involved, but that was for the same reasons/person as me!
  2. Looks like Francis Monkman had got his facts wrong when I was chatting with him - now fancy that
  3. Strictly speaking, I think Curved Air fit this category. I believe that Sonja Kristina was not in the very first line up, but now sometimes goes out under the band name.
  4. Well that was something special. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. Fantastic Negrito - Have you lost your mind yet? Bob Dylan - Rough & rowdy ways.
  6. Not going down that road but suggesting a detour...I like both. They sound different. Neither sounds 'better'.
  7. Nostalgia - pure and simple. Dreadful medium!
  8. Just looked her up, having never heard of her before. What a tragic tale, but yes, what a beautiful voice. Here's that OGWT clip.
  9. Looks like that's a 'het' then 🇷🇺
  10. Quickly followed by a new ceiling. Slight flaw in your plan Chris 😎
  11. Someone ended up with a splendid bread board.
  12. Had a fun trip over to Modena to organise a photo shoot for a PH album. Lovely guy, wanted to present PH as a band, and the gig there was the only chance to get them all together. Terrible hungover shoot the morning after the gig, so bought espresso and grappa all round, improved things no end 😏
  13. Loving the main drummer, Karl Wright.
  14. 'appreciate bands who are not only tighter than a gnat's chuff but have the chops to boot' = The Meters 😎
  15. The Police worked pretty well as a unit for me. Loads of others I'm sure, but they are the ones that immediately spring to mind.
  16. @Nail Soup this was the 'old' male vocal - old as in sounded like an old recording. This is the simple, but I found quite hypnotic bassline:
  17. One with a really repetitive, simple, but great bassline, and one with a very old sounding male vocal. Will listen again and see if I can make sense with the track listing.
  18. Excellent, thank you. They must have put this up later. (Now I need to work out the two that I loved)!
  19. Shame there's no track listing 🙁
  20. Stuck on the M25 today and this came on 6 Music. Loved 90% of it (only available for 30 days). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000py26
  21. Good call. I feel much the same, even like a lot of non Christmas religious music, and am a fully fledged atheist.
  22. My favourite (by an artist hated by so many on here it gives me even greater joy 😎)
