  1. Here you go - must update it, I've fallen a bit behind as the audio on my laptop had somehow fried itself... https://open.spotify.com/playlist/59RhYT5dLPwboS9u3njL4S?si=oGgmMf8sTaarjSRBDrqHjA
  2. Working on a whole bunch of songs, but more importantly, working on playing them without looking at my left hand! I think much of it is semi-concious, but I've noticed nearly every picture of me that's wher I'm looking! Started with fretted bass - all went well. Now just retraining on the fretless. Good first session, but old dogs, new tricks, I reckon it will take some time to perfect!
  3. You want a double-entendre? I'll give you one.
  4. Heard this once in Homebase and will now forever be Just an Emulsion.
  5. Interesting, thanks. Will have to listen again armed with this info.
  6. One of Six Music's favourite oldies, played again this afternoon. Nice riff and groove, but I'm struggling to work out the count after the chord changes, where the riff comes back in, sort of across the bar. Anyone play this? Or anyone fancy having a listen and tell me what's happening? Thanks.

  8. But that is sort of my point. Bass is not a vanity instrument, therefore, it shouldn't matter to bass players when people don't highlight it for praise. We know it wouldn't be as good without us!
  9. Short answer, No. Longer answer: One of the most highly appreciated songwriters of all times. His bass lines were an integral part of that songwriting process. So even if Jo(e) Public don't jump up and down hailing his bass playing it doesn't mean it is under appreciated. And that's from someone who really doesn't care much for the Beatles.
  10. Bob Babbitt on Marvin Gaye's Inner City Blues Tommy Cogbil on Dusty Springfield's Son of a Preacher Man
  11. How did we go so long without this
  12. Saw Miles do a solo gig in Liverpool promoting new material. One drunk constantly heckled for Size. 'for some people it will always be 19 fxxcking 91' was his response. And yes, the late Martin Gilkes was a great live drummer.
  13. He had another dance hit in an earlier period with I Thought it Was You. Both that and Rockit were very different to his amazing Jazz repertoire!
  14. Not trying to be the cool hipster here, but I genuinely loved Frank when it came out. Must dig it back out to see how it has aged.
  15. This. Even if not excessive volume, your ears are probably looking for a rest.
  16. Wonderstuff Dizzy. Pretty sure a large number of people who know that don't even know Size of a Cow.
  17. Frankie Miller 'Darlin'. He is so much better than his one big hit.
  18. OK, from previous record company experience (and I've just checked and it is still the case) - nearly all music is broadcast through a license with PPL. There is no negotiating fees for radio stations for individual tracks*, so it is not a cost issue. *There may be one or two exceptions, but I've checked and the Beatles are not one of them.
  19. Fascinating (and excellent) build @Andyjr1515. Congratulations!
  20. Whatever they were I'm pretty sure some will still be fitted and in use
  21. Wrong answer - and let's hope @BigRedX doesn't see this (oops).
  22. The Carpenters. Neither of them could come up with a decent dovetail joint.
  23. Bootsy could be the kit man.
  24. Those mods work really well. Looks great.
