Played in that order it would certainly leave a lot of people confused (or empty the pub)!

That 2002 gig was in a big venue and was full. In the UK he could fill the Albert Hall quite easily, and when I met him at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon the promoter said the hall always lost money booking him as they didn't have enough capacity to make a profit, but it was seen as a prestige gig for them so they took it as a loss leader. Apart from the fees he also looked after the band really well. They all stayed at the same hotel as him, so when he played the Albert Hall they all stayed in the Hilton, Park Lane. Oh, and we paid a fair amount for the filming rights (although most of it was covered by a fee from PBS who had found they had a TV audience for him in the US).

Not sure how high, but NEVER been this low...

Here's the gig I was at that we filmed. Huge sports hall built as part of the reunification of Germany. Middle of nowhere in the former East Germany.

Lovely man. worked on a couple of CD/DVD releases with him. Went to the end of tour celebration after the gig in a town called Zwickau. Got very drunk with the horn section

Have a look at DPD Local via the dedicated Local website. Haven't used it for a bass, but was pricing up for some chairs and was impressed with what they offer - far better than any of the Parcel2Go/ParrcelMonkey type sites.

Got me going on a trip down memory lane now @Reggaebass 😀 One of our biggest sellers was big with the older generation. Not the coolest of albums, but sold a few over the years.

Pretty sure it would have been 85 when it first came out. I worked there off an on for quite a few years starting as a Saturday boy and ending up working for the label they set up.

Here I Come was huge in the record shop I worked in at the time. Wasn't a big reggae shop but this one hit the spot with our South London punters.

I find a lot of 'down' music can be uplifting. Quite a lot of Blues for starters - Need Your Love so Bad, Got A Mind to Give Up Living (and go Shopping Instead). Jeff Buckley's take on Cohen's Hallelujah, and also his version of Lilac Wine are other great non-blues examples. As a flipside, California Dreaming sounds really bouncy and joyous, but the lyrics are very melancholic.

Nice lineup!
