  1. Couple of Lovers' Rock classics:
  2. Of course, on the 20th anniversary of his death -
  3. Great call, would have probably gone with the Sideboard Song, but Chas & Dave were instant cheer up whatever they did.
  4. Thought it was time I investigated Wilco. One upside to all this downtime!
  5. I'm an unashamed fan of great pop music. This one always puts a spring in my step.
  6. Putting a Reggae playlist together on Spotify. Currently Burning Spear - Marcus Garvey playing.
  7. And following on from that, here's an interesting earlier (1967) version of Dawn Penn's 1994 hit!
  8. The very cool original of a much bigger hit.
  9. Probably a new thread in off topic rather than derailing this one, but here's a take by a Jamaican Rasta: http://www.jamaicanrastafarianlove.com/becoming-a-rasta-can-a-white-person-be-rastafarian/
  10. Unfortunately for me, the most stunning one is a guitar.
  11. Stunning craftsmanship, and yes, dowes look nice, until someone plugged the lead in. Spoils it completely IMO.
  12. Got any gigs coming up?🤔 Don't do it. Really not that important in the grand scheme of things, and the evidence for the benefit of social distancing really can't be ignored.
  13. Seeing lots of music teachers talking about Zoom for online lessons - might be worth looking at for rehearsing.
  14. Why are all these coronavirus threads appearing in General Discussion? Has it suddenly become music related? Grump over.

  15. Love the way Ernest and Monty straddled Jazz and Reggae so naturally.
  16. Not very contemporary, but not ancient and muffled - the wonderful Ernest Ranglin with Sly & Robbie. Beautiful stuff.
  17. OK, your eyesight/computer resolution is far better than mine 😎
  18. I had a Japanese Jazz guitar back in the 1970s which had been made with no name on the headstock. Cracking Gibson Barney Kessel copy.
  19. So, singer, guitarist has called it a day on my main current project. Had been sniffing around for something in addition to this, but now need a new gig! Great timing 😕
  20. Don't think Slam Stewart has put in an appearance yet.
  21. Been a very long week, but it sounded wonderful as I kept falling in and out of conciousness on the sofa! iPlayer later.
  22. Whoops, epic thread derail, but at least we're still discussing setts...
  23. I do love a little bit of drunks falling about towards the end of a gig, but then perhaps I haven't seen it too bad. Wildlife is lovely but all I've been seeing is a lot of roadkill badgers 😥
