Hmm. I can see this is not going to be an easy choice basically I need to cut my rig size and weight down by a lot without losing much volume. I use a 4ohm markbass 2x12 currently which isn't that heavy for you blokes but to a short lass with back trouble who lives on the top floor it's very heavy
It is an easy choice - it's your back - your one & only back, look after it while you're still young get a roadie

SOLD. [s]For Trade[/s] - My Ashdown MiBass 550 - for your MiBass 220? Later this week I'm getting a brand new Ashdown MiBass 550, factory fresh in sealed bag box, complete with manual etc. Typical high street price £416. It's far more watts than I'll ever need so I'm hoping someone might have a MiBass 220 they would be interested in trading up? It's specifically the MiBass 220 I'm after but another 'micro' class D amp may be considered & any trade offered will have to be in 'As new' condition please. I'm also looking for a Mi10 cab. Link to typical shop prices: http://explore.dolph...p=Q&w=mibass+10 other retailers are available If I have to state a sale price then it's £[s]250[/s] or whatever a 220 costs, so quite a saving if you were thinking of buying a 550. Edit: Sorry but I can't find a new 220 for £250 so I have to change my straight sale price to £299 still a good saving! This shows the 'spare' length above the nut on my AV '57 P - the A measures 70mm of usable before the purple silk -
Extra Extra long Half/Pressure/Ground wound 5 string set
KiOgon replied to apa's topic in General Discussion
Hows that for a niche market!! Im desperate to find a set of Half or Ground or Pressure (What ever you want to call them) wound 5 string set but in extra long scale. When I say extra long I mean a voice length of 38 1/2" or 980mm (Ball to Silk) I did buy a set of Status half wounds but they are too short by about 30mm. These are for a fretless. Or if anyone knows who can make a set. Status will but theres a minimum order of 10 packs!! Newton only do round wounds (Although they are planning on custom flats in the new year ) There is the option of extra long Chromes but they are about £50. I do know that GHS (My prefered brand) do the ML720-5 Pressure wound but not sure they will fit. I have seen thier ML3075 Brite Flats mentioned as extra long sets and in 5 string packs but cant find them anywere for sale. Help please!!! A
I don't suppose it's any help but - GHS Precision flats - say on the packet 38" same with the Black Nylons so I suspect the Groundwounds will be the same. -
The head doesn't look right, I'm sure the machine heads don't come that close to the edge of the head stock on a real Fender

What's going on here then? Something dodgy in the bidding!
KiOgon replied to KiOgon's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Tried clearing your cache and stuff. Ebay cocks about a lot with that. If someone has entered a higher maximum bid, it will just show as outbidding you by a bit every time you bid, because that's how ebay works, it doesn't go right to the maximum unless it needs to. Also listings can be madeprivate so bidder IDs are hidden, but I don't think it shows up like you describe. Edit: Also my currently bidding list constantly rearranges itself according to ebay's whim, sometimes it includes finished items, sometimes it doesn't
Yes you're right - but this isn't telling me I'm outbid, it's telling me to enter a bid higher than the current.
+1 It would only show a bid from you in the bidding history if you have a 'sucessful' bid, i.e. one that is higher than whatever the current highest bidder's maximum bid is.
No it usually shows up in the 'show automatic bids' but this isn't.
Hmmmm ... that's not my experience at all. If I find myself bidding against someone who has placed a MAX bid of £100 but their bid currently stands at £50 then my new bid of £55 will appear in the bidding history while his apparent £50 bid will have become £60. If I then place a new bid of £65 then that will also appear in the bidding history (so everyone can now see that I have placed two bids) while his apparent £60 bid will have become £70 (so everyone can see that he has only placed one bid). Sounds to me like there's something odd, either with your end of this bidding, or with eBay.
Exactly! -
Do you think there's a bass player on the production team at the one show? Last week Pino, this week Mark King - great stuff. And didn't they both come across as nice blokes? KiOgon replied to KiOgon's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Someone has an auto bid on it. Their max bid is higher than yours each time, when you place a bid they automatically outbid you. It will keep on happening until you outbid them.
I don't see how that stops my bids showing on the item, or the item showing in my bidding list? -

KiOgon replied to KiOgon's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Presumably if someone else placed a (higher) bid just a split second before yours, then this would happen. But I can't see that happening very often, and certainly not twice on one item.
Yes that's what I thought may have happened the first time, but not twice as you say! -
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...6#ht_500wt_1201 When I try to place a bid on this I get a message "please place a bid higher than the current" or similar, each time I look back & the bid shown has increased but my ID is not shown in the bidder list? It's not 'normal' Edit: So I have increased the bidding on this by about £40 from when I first saw it bu my ID or abbreviated ID doesn't show in the list - I checked again - something definitely ain't right Edit 2: Even stranger - it's not showing up in my bidding list, so the seller has just had the bidding increased by an invisible bidder? Looks like something similar has already happened with the previous bidder making 3 bids but at least his/her ID is shown. REPORTED to eBay!
I've been buying/selling on ebay for donkeys years and never heard of a sellers cap? I've sold things from 1p start price to £8500 start price, never had any contact from ebay telling me there are limits? I'm not doubting the story, just never heard of it myself.
Same here, wondered if it's connected to the sellers low feedback?
Just to clear things up. I wanted to sell the guitar on Ebay but they wouldn't upgrade my sellers allowance. So I thought I would make it clear in the item description exactly how much I wanted for the guitar and could any potential buyers contact me personally. I honestly didn't expect anybody who read the description to then go ahead and place a bid. Nothing sinister chaps.
It doesn't matter what you write in a description - if you put it on ebay with no reserve & a starting bid of 1p - what the heck do you expect people to do? IT'S AN AUCTION SITE PEOPLE BID THAT'S HOW IT WORKS
