1. Hipshot D-tuner definitely for the win, it doesn't take long to get used to playing with your E being D, a flick & you're back.
 2. Seems like some good deals, if you're looking for TC gear http://www.andertons.co.uk/News/aid822/buy-a-tc-electronic-bh500-bass-half-stack-and-get-a-second-cab-absolutely-free.asp?utm_campaign=120618tcbassstacks&utm_content=1062375640178&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Emailvision
 3.
If you have FaceBook (not everyone does!) I posted the vid in the R*ickenfaker group page. Its pretty poor playing as I haven't used a pick in a year and I had no idea what to play when I hit the recording 'on' switch, but you get the drift sound-wise http://www.facebook....oid=78514186083
That's just what happens to me when I go to try a bass glad I'm not alone sounds like a Ric btw

 5.
no wax, oil, silicones etc. anyone know what is actually in it? duck phelgm?
Duck knows
 6. The weblink doesn't help much - "[Every bass neck comes completely fretted" - & your photo's don't show the side dots (if there are any?) So does it have position markers & what/where are they, at 'fret position'? Cheerz, John Edit: What size are the tuner holes please?
 7. 12. BTW I'm a little unbalanced in terms of Rosewood Vs Maple, only my '51P & '57P (RI's) are Maple but looking around here I can see Seven rosies I think I need to sell a couple & redress the balance, (by buying more Maple)
 13.
What I meant to say, was, except the one that KiOgon has, which is arguably the finest looking P I've seen in a long while, and what appears to be extraordinary value at that price too (Even though I haven't seen it, or know how much it is .....hope that's OK??) (Is this the first ever bump of a bass not even listed yet )
Yep - nice one Rick - thank you muchly - your £5er's in the post When I get some photo's done I'll put it up with a link here
 14.
Black guards on sunburst is just wrong!
No it ain't not when I'm just going to advertise one for sale it ain't
 15. I just love the duck's picture
I'll give it a go. I use Finger-Ease anyway, so it's got to be worth a punt for a fiver! http://www.stringsdi..._ducks_axe_wax_
Ah! I hadn't seen it for under a Fiva
 16. Anybody tried it? Now available in the UK
 17. Rosewood's right on Sunburst, Maple's wrong IMO

 19. My pleasure supplying another wiring kit to Gary, spot on fella to deal with, faultless communication, payment etc, a proper gent Cheerz, John
 20.
Hi John. A couple of minor hiccups (mostly lack of time on my part), but all is back on track! The bass really sounds great and nails the sound I had in my head. I've a MIM jazz neck on the bass in the meantime, but not liking it at all! I know you're right about getting the 1.75 neck, and I know I'd regret not doing it, so I'll shop around a bit more. The japs I've been looking at seem to be 1.625 (the standard p bass size I think). My 57 has a 1.75 neck and I really love the feel of it. As above, the jazz neck, while nice and fast, just isn't doing it for me. Real men need a 1.75!!!
Yes I've edited my mistake I meant 1.625". I've recently got a old Highway One P-bass which measures 1.65" at the nut & the feel is very close to the AV's but still 1/10" down. ATB, John
 21. Hi Paddy, ain't you got that finished yet? To me it wouldn't be a '62 with anything less than a 1 & 3/4 neck. All the Jap ones I've seen have been 1.625" but I don't know about the 90's ones. Stick out for a proper AV job IMO, they are so good ATB, John Edit: As Mr Fingers has pointed out, it's the 7.25" radius & the Vintage Frets which all combine to give it the right feel, size & shape. The Musikraft neck looks pretty close from the pics I've seen.
 22. I liked the '54s' for a while, but changed back to my favourites, GHS Precision Flats 55-70-90-105, I find them better balanced than the Bellas & still perfectly usable downtuned. How much set up they'll need depends a lot on what you're changing from & how it is now. Have you tried Status Hot Wires BTW? I recently got some 45-65-85-105 & really pleased with. Especially at 1/2 the price of many others
