1. Many a fine bass player has run away at the thought of playing that & doing it justice Top marks to you for having a go at it 'snot easy
2. Here's one of Guy's single screw Maple T/R on my '51P
3. Yes - Guy's been flagged up before, top quality work & woods, I've got his T/Rs on all mine. They not only look good, they have a much nicer feel & put you 'in touch' far more than a plastic moulding, IMO
4. That looks a fine lot of P for 600 squid, just shows no-one's got spare in their pocket. Lovely bass - GLWTS John
5.
lol yea took me about 3-4 hours!
It's gonna take you another 3-4 hours to clean up the bridge & all the bits covered in crap - why didn't you put them somewhere out of the sh1te storm?
6. One way to get personal/special is to cut/get made a scratch plate from clear Acrylic or Polycarbonate/Lexan sheet, then fit whatever you want underneath, veneer, wallpaper, photograph, newspaper, cornflakes packet, squashed flies, whatever you like. You can even do custom artwork on the reverse & have it protected by the see through top. Cheerz, John
7.
Plenty of Big Birds though..
Pictures? Phone numbers?
8. Don't sacrifice a perfectly good P bass in an attempt to get it sounding like a '62 Jazz, it ain't gonna happen, get a Jazz IMO Cheerz, John
9. ^^ Looks a good job look forward to the 'school hall test' results. Cheerz, John
10. I'm listening to more Riverside now, must admit to this being the first 'new prog rock' stuff I've liked for a long time
11. So that's ONLY a $1000 more than a normal MIK wick then
12. Quite like the idea, the look & the sound (based on the demo vid) but not the price tag don't suppose they'll sell many
13. Did they use those machine heads as early as '82? I thought they were later.
14.
I saw this lunchtime someone selling a plastic wedge on ebay for this purpose http://www.ebay.co.u...855604754301573
Great little tool *piece of plastic* has hundreds of uses when setting up a bass, wouldn't be without mine
15. I like that Riverside lot thanks for that don't recognise the bass though
16.
In other news. That Eric dude was annoying. Good work, but annoying.
You think he was annoying! What about Henry Schmuckbucket, I mean Henry Juszkiewicz Henry Juszkiewicz
17. Did anyone see the David Attenborough series Natural World prog tonight? Amazing Lemurs & their habitat being destroyed by illegal logging, it made me feel guilty in a way for having fretboards at all! Turned out most of the timber was going to China but also to Gibson USA. Well worth checking it out on iplayer. Cheerz, John EDIT: Link added, http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01dlcgk/Natural_World_20112012_Madagascar_Lemurs_and_Spies/

21.
Cheers Mark, I usually use Slnkys which are unwrapped, but then I saw this on Rotosounds site http://www.rotosound...tring_guide.php Its in the Please Note paragraph.
Measure your string with regard to the lengths given in that link & if it's outside the specified range - give Rotosound a bell or email. I'm sure they'll soon sort you out.
22. I saw Pat's wanted ad for a Roland Micro Cube Bass RX & as I wasn't using mine I offered it to him. We had a straightforward exchange of PMs, great comms & instant payment, the amp was his next day! A pleasure to deal with & a pleasure to start a feedback thread for another 'first timer' on the forum. No problems at all - highly recommended Enjoy the amp Pat & have a great time here. Cheerz, John
