1. I'd go for 10 - 20, 20 is 'standard' room temp whereas 5 is f'in cold
2.
Blimey, how did they ever cope back in the 50's, 60's and 70's before this was invented
Yeah & the 80's, 90's, even 00's. 60 years without it
3.
I get that.. but what problem does it fix?
Exactly! I've never had a problem - with the A string - that is
4.
What-an invisibility gizmo?
Patience is a virtue
5. Never seen this before - all those years (60) of development, cutting edge technology, the best brains in the world have come up with this: Can you tell what it is yet? Is it only available on 'top of the range' 2011 models?
6. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POWER-BASS-STRINGS-LONG-SCALE-COMPATABLE-PRECISION-JAZZ-/390362457058?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item5ae36a63e2#ht_1287wt_934 I don't use rounds but maybe some will try these cheapo's?
7. Good to hear the track cheers WOT, lovely recording, clear bass excellent warm tone & well played
8. Great to hear the LB can push enough out via good speakers - with a 12 piece band Lovely little amps Best wishes for the shows, have fun. Cheerz, John
9.
Drilling is not the problem, I think the positioning could be. I Agree with the potential risk of the paint flaking but what if the holes were drilled before painting?
Drilling is not the problem - Positioning is not the problem - Paint flaking is not the problem - The problem is playing the damn thing once they're on there Unless you're young enough to learn to play different style or just want to hang it on a wall to look at
10. I love the look with ashtrays on, but decided to experiment with covers on a cheapo P-bass before drilling. I'm glad I did because I can't play anything like 'normal' with them on so I won't be drilling either my '57 or '62, not for the foreseeable anyhow
11. I almost bought a '62 AV from him & had good communications with, seems a genuine guy to me, I only didn't, 'cos I got a better deal straight from the states. I would buy with confidence from him on that basis alone. HTH, John Edit: Yes that is a seriously good price & yes they are a seriously good P-bass mine '57 is my go to
12. This came through from Stewart MacDonald in their newsletter & I thought it might be worth sharing ;-) http://www.stewmac.com/tradesecrets/ts0151_polystripping.hzml?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ts0151
13. Solder it to ground on the pot body or jack socket outer sleeve, wherever's easy
14. It would have to be the Fiesta Red P for me but then I don't do J necks for very long. They've both got the same 'vintage frets' which make the necks really playable (for me anyway). I think you've got a better chance of decent output with the P pick ups, the J pickups IMO are often very 'weak'. worth trying A/B in the shop if possible without changing amp settings & see/hear before you buy. I know neither have the highest quality pickups but the P's generally give a bit more output I reckon.
15. It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it Go Doddy!
16. Brilliant vid ^^^^^^^ Cheerz BTW - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/159148-62-or-64-gold-jazz-bass-your-choice/page__fromsearch__1
17. Best wishes to Chuck & family, tough times, hope he comes back OK.
18.
I think the seller means Cornell only made one bass amp model. I was sure I'd seen another for sale and found this - http://basschat.co.u...-plus-two-cabs/
I think that's the same setup
19.
This forum is terrible for GAS. I had to order one lol
Don't forget - pic's or it didn't happen
20. I got the '51 a while ago, then this showed up http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FENDER-F-toys-57-PRECISION-BASS-1-8-MINIATURE-GUITAR-JAPAN-9-/190592708464?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2c6035ef70 don't think they come up often.
21.
How 'little' is it?
I think you sir - have sussed it & thanks Skank
22. I would be 'kinda confused' too Is it exactly the same decal? It seems possible someone has made more than one decal with the same serial number? How sure are you of the originality of yours?
23. Tempting but I'm not a gambler & can't afford to loose £102, although I'm thinking if you use a credit card through Paypal, how much protection would you get?
