  1. I have the AVRI '57 in white blonde and the AVRI '62 3TS, strung with GHS Precision Flats or LaBellas. I could never afford a real vintage - these are perfect P- basses to me, the best I'll ever have I'm sure. If you've got too much cash, do what you want with but I don't think you'll see, feel or hear a difference worth the extra IMHO
  2. Good Health and Happiness to all, may 2018 be kind to everyone. Best Wishes - Happy New Year Cheerz, John
  3. That's not what I'm saying exactly, my understanding is they use genuine Fender parts to assemble after reworking to their or customers spec. I also assumed they had some sort of agreement with Fender? Please correct me and explain if that's wrong.
  4. I thought Limelight assembled basses from genuine Fender parts - customised, is that right?
  5. I would expect the Mosfets to be typically about £15 a pair! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10N20-10P20-Audio-Amplifier-Mosfet-TO3-2SJ50-2SK135-Exicon/361426023600
  6. I'm nowhere near Glasgow and can't help with the routing - but could certainly do you a wiring loom you can fit in ten minutes - no soldering
  7. I hope the neighbourhood cats don't smell it - in the shed - with the door open - see where I'm going with this?
  8. One of our cats p1553d in the VHS player once, had to throw it away and the video player
  9. Another leap forward - everything is very much quicker down here by the sea, in the sun Well done Cheerz
  10. The SD SPB-3 I repaired the other day, I remember had identical resistance reading from each coil, shouldn't make any difference which way the 2 halves are fitted. Cheerz, John
  11. Grant got in touch for a couple of wiring looms, great comms and instant payment, a pleasure to deal with start to finish. Cheerz, John
  12. Another P-bass wiring loom for Tom, as always a true gent to deal with, forever a pleasure. Cheerz, John
  13. That is lovely, very little wear and tear, great example, but not immaculate - to be a pedantic old git who couldn't afford it anyway
  14. I know what you mean I reckon the experience was a easy ride really!
  15. I've just been thinking it would have been Jimi's 75th birthday the other day, I would have loved to have been in Noel's place a few times! Who would you love to have played with? I first saw Hendrix on Hasting pier 22 October 1967, then again almost 3 years later in 1970 at the Isle of Wight festival, a couple of weeks before he met his untimely end. Would he have still been playing/writing today at 75 I wonder I'm getting old ?
  16. A long long time ago I sometimes used a Gibson SG in my band, it wasn't a good look like an elephant with a stick of rhubarb I remember someone saying.
