2. I've made a few kits for Ade now, the latest being for his lovely Broncos. He's always a pleasure to deal with, excellent communications and instant payment, a very fine bc'er indeed, 100% recommended Cheerz, John
3. \check with Overwater the wiring of the XLR and what cable you need, the one you have is probably wired wrong for the job - I'd say

9. I'm never far away Thanks for the good words guys
10. Looks OKish, not happy with the pickguard though - if that's the edge of the control cavity showing by the jack socket and I've no idea of the value, but it don't seem cheap!
11. That'll be a capped maple neck, fretboard is a separate piece - glued on just like a rosewood, ebony etc.
12. Good luck with the [s]sale[/s] practically give away Nick, I love Ghersons, Ferrari of the Jazz bass, lovely fast neck and great sound.
13. I did once heat up two large flat blocks of wood in the oven, remove them and clamp the pickguard between them, left it overnight, next day perfik! I can't remember what temperature/gas mark it was though but the wood wasn't on fire
14. He's a git, wind him up - get back to him and offer £125 - if he bites make the arrangements but don't turn up play him at his own game
15.
Up for grabs is a kiogon harness that was on my precision lyte. I've been in touch with john to check and it's a 3 alpha mini pot version so could suit any 2 pick up bass with the right number of holes for controls..... Orientation is volume, volume, tone and has a switch craft jack socket. £20 shipped
You forgot to mention the pick up selector switch
16. Leave it! Looks like Sherwood Green to me http://www.vintageguitar.com/24640/fender-custom-colors-in-the-1960s/
17. ^ Cheerz Gary ^ That does look a mess! Here's one of mine - https://www.dropbox.com/s/jvagc86u3e2qdt2/2017-08-23%2015.58.36.jpg?dl=0 just add pick up wires and bridge earth. It's not often caps get damaged by soldering heat, it's more likely a pot would suffer if too much heat was applied but that doesn't look likely from your picture. If you took out the series/parallel switch what is the other push/pull switch in the photo? John
18. With a thin strip of metal, even a small screwdriver test the pick up for equal magnetic strength - especialy under the outside strings. A delicate touch is required to sense the pull of the magnets but it can show up shortcomings in the pick up magnet department.

That red screen got me again, straight after visiting the gardening thread it's left me alone for a while but it's still there
20. I made a switch with solderless terminals assembly for Richard, great guy to deal with, a pleasure. Cheerz, John

Always a pleasure to deal with Mark, he's as fine a gent as you'll find around here Cheerz, John
22. Cut the messing about and get the DP127 - you will not regret it I'm sure. They p155 rings around the SDs IMHO. If you've found them both about the same price it's no contest Edit: Ki pronounced key is Japanese for Yellow and Ogon is a single coloured Koi, so simply 'Yellow Koi'. I have kept Koi since about 1975, when they were very few and far between in this country and the Yamabuki name taken from the Flower in Japan 'Kerria japonica' (abbreviated to Ki), has always been my personal favourite Koi, almost impossible to find a perfect example. It's been my nickname for years and the reg. no. on my car; KI0GON https://en.wikipedia...Kerria_japonica https://www.google.c...V4kobqYBCYfRYM: Cheerz, John
23. Second verse - same as the first great guy to deal with Cheerz, John
24. Hi Tom, another reccomendation for the DiMarzio P's - my favourite is the DP127, does exactly what it says on the can, very hot output with crystal clear definition of every note - the full range. Worth every penny, (you get what you pay for), quality of manufature too, and so much better than the Symour Duncans IMHO. http://www.dimarzio.com/node/2127 Cheerz, John
