    OLP MM2

Yes, can do a loom for that, PM me πŸ‘
  3. If you use the wrong knobs, for 1/4" shafts - yes they will go eccentric - but if you use the proper knobs for 6mm shafts the alignment of the screw with the split makes them fit concentric and tight.
  4. Yes, but only because I share my name with that bassy bloke from Dire Straights πŸ˜‚
  5. Agree with @JohnDaBass above, I have the DP127W in my AVRI '57 P, with GHS Precision flats, have always loved the dynamics, tone range and clarity, wired in series as standard. Never too 'boomy or bassy' πŸ˜ƒ plenty of top end, TBH never tried it in parallel. Always through my Ashdown LB30/112/48 πŸ‘

  11. Definitely not normal, idealy - do you have another pair of pickups you can try? If you can inspect the external solder joints where the pickup wires are and the wires are in tact, the probability is that the coil windings have for some reason been broken/damaged or detached from the solder tags inside.
  12. Sorry, late to the party! Good advice above and as said the wiring looks OK. Many manufacturers don't or didn't bother with a earth wire to the jack when mounted on a metal control plate, but as Gary - I always do a hardwire earth to every component, it only takes one to become loose and you can loose the continuity. Testing everything with a multimeter should find the problem/s. Good luck πŸ˜‰ If you decide on a new loom, easy option, ☺️ I'm here
  13. Gerry needed another loom πŸ˜ƒ, perfect transaction, he's a diamond geezer πŸ‘ Cheerz, John
  14. Pickups are out of phase, swap one pair of wires and try it, or something on the controls is shorting out.
  15. Yes, right here πŸ˜„ PM me for details πŸ‘
  16. Lollars in mine - PERFECT IMHO 😍 https://www.lollarguitars.com/lollar-bass-pickups

  21. I can't imagine why a luthier wouldn't 'just do it' without any talk of 'at your risk', if he's not proficient I'd seek another luthier. Re-doing a bit of copper foil or shielding paint ain't exactly difficult either, IMO πŸ˜‡
  22. @Obrienp Never seen any blend pots with long mounting thread, (not shaft - that's the bit the knob goes on). The obvious answer is to remove a smidgen of wood inside the cavity where the pot sits, carefully πŸ˜‰ so more thread sticks through, if you're OK with woodwork handtools, if not see a luthier.
  23. There's a easy way, ready to drop in, no soldering and works first time, or you could spend hours trying πŸ˜‰
  24. Also irrelevant, but I have a Vintage Advance Thinline Tele which is truly superb and punches well above it's price πŸ˜‰ https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-advance-av2-thinline-283347013
  25. It's not because they're 'Mini' so much as they're cheaper than chips, in fact potato pots might be better. Penny pinching on electrics by most manufacturers is what lets many basses/guitars down, poxy pots, jacks made out of putty and soldering by '3 year olds', you'd think! Japanese Fenders included. I've been using Bourns mini pots for a good few years now in most of my replacement looms and they are as good quality and as well made as the benchmark CTS. Just to set the record straight like πŸ˜‰
