1. Sack him now! Second chance would only involve proving himself/herself fit & able at a later date

9. Best wishes Bill - one of my early influences, in fact I made my first bass copying the Vox Teardrop he & Brian Jones were playing.

15. Yep still made me laugh, remember that on telly!
16. The top diagram - Fender '62 pick ups is fine. The SM drawing has the 2 wires from the volume pot shown in black - as you say they should be white! Also SM show no earth to the tone pot body, which is wrong IMO. Meddle has it right ^^ in both posts ^^ Cheerz, John
17. Love mine - number one straight from the factory - never missed a beat & never need another amp
18. Harry enquired about a passive conversion wiring kit for his Status Energy 5 & I was pleased to make him a loom for the job. Great communications & instant payment, a real pleasure & a gent to deal with. Cheerz, John
19. Sounds like you need a nut job
20.
I bought the guitar 'new' about 3 months ago. I suppose that maybe the guitar and certainly the strings could be any age depending how long it's been displayed in the shop. The clearance of the E string at the first fret is approximately 0.6mm.
0.6mm don't sound a lot - but the way I test is to tear a sliver of paper & put on top of first fret while fretting the string at the 2nd, if the scrap of paper falls out - the nut slot ain't deep enough also as above - check the high point of the bottom of the slot is towards the fingerboard - not the tuners.
21. How well cut is your nut? You are bending the E more/too much to fret if it's too high!
22. Bryan asked about options for his Jazz bass & after a few PMs he settled on a Volume Blend Tone set, super guy to deal with, spot on communications & instant payment - a diamond geezer Cheerz, John
23. So good I had to play it twice Best bass playing front man ever!
