8. But I can't see Fender in the title? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/107887438/vintage-jazz-bass-guitar.html
9.
I reported this guy for attempting to pass off a Vintage Bass as a Vintage Fender Bass which is very different. He is quite devious and probably doesn't actually break the law, but as the asking price is vastly more than the new price, he is definitely pushing his luck. http://www.preloved....ass-guitar.html
I can't see a problem, he calls it Vintage, shows the head decal & states Vintage as the manufacturer, no mention of the F word. The price is up to him, with a hard case as well it's no dearer than new by my reckoning!
10. Thanks JapanAxe Yes I do a stacked V/T for these to retain the single pot hole scratchplate or if you want to drill for another pot, no problem. Cheerz, John
11. Another perfect transaction with Bryan, great communication & instant payment - deal with confidence. Cheerz, John
12. If you've decided on LaBellas, I would go for the lightest gauges on a Jazz bass - http://www.labella.com/products/760fx/ or http://www.labella.com/products/ltf-4a/ I find the bigger gauges a bit heavy for a J neck IMO, IME etc. just my 2pworth Or of course you could always go TI JF344's http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomastik_jf344.htm
13. Taking all of the advice above how did we ever manage when listening to nothing more than a transistor radio from Woolworths, tuned to Luxembourg or Caroline, under the bedclothes, in the dark
14. Well - they all look proper enough to me! Real old school Nice collection
15. Howdo from down on the coast - Bexhill
16. Plugging the body holes & re-drilling is obviously the way to go - if they are done right then they should line up with the neck holes assuming those are standard - but it's a suck it & see really! Good luck
17. You can get a free 'energy meter' from some suppliers, eg: British gas which will show you how much you are using, so you can actually see the amount in pounds&pence or KWH whatever you programme it in. I've got one, somewhere - it didn't take long for the novelty to wear off but they are good You can go around the house & switch individual items on & off & see exactly what they're costing! Here you go! https://www.britishgas.co.uk/smarter-living/control-energy/smart-meters.html
18. I'll wait for the plasterer's radio version ( please don't google that!) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=plasterer%27s+radio&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CC0QsARqFQoTCJ7jubGPpsgCFUk3FAod2k0FQA&biw=1680&bih=913
19. Just smack him someone please at least unplug him
20.
This is a link for a few songs recorded at a gig earlier this year: http://www.changestw...o.uk/sound.html
Sorry won't be at the gig - but the gig links were great listening
21.
But I still have no idea who Shaggy is? I'm starting to feel like this is a conspiracy!
giyf.com

23.
Give 'em a good rub with a cotton t-shirt to banish the grippyness.
Whenever I fit a new set - which is generally only when I get a new bass before fitting I give them a good rub down with Surgical Spirits on a cotton pad - rub until no more black comes off.
Thanks, I'll try that. Any idea why this helps? I believe a lot of the muck that comes off is residue from the manufacturing process, including machine oils, once the initial clean up is done they're never as 'sticky' & never need treating again, but I do use GHS Fast Fret once in a while. BTW, I've been thinking of splurging out on some La Bella's. Any tips, suggestions, alternatives?
I'm with WOT - GHS Precision Flats are my fave on P bass, particularly a wide 'C' neck. Status Flats are great VFM & I like them best on a 'B' nut. TI JF344s on a Jazz Bass IMHO a perfect match
