1. The holes in the bottom of the route for the pick ups are probably not vertically aligned so when the mounting screws are fitted they cause a 'tilt'. Answer - to re drill holes in the right place & plug the old ones. Or it may be caused by a replacement pickguard with the cut outs in a different place so when fitted it's forcing the pick ups out of position. Or could even be replacement pick ups that are not quite the same shape/size/mounting holes, the cut outs were intended for.
 2.
Thanks, Gary - the general perception is that Hayman and Shergold basses are heavy, but my Hayman isn't and this isn't! They're both made from Obeche, an African hardwood used for making furniture.
What do you know! My Dad - in 1963 or 4 found me some wood to make my first bass - he was a carpenter/joiner/cabinet maker - but said he knew about wood for musical instruments anyway I clearly remember, he brought me home a piece of Obeche for the body & Sapele for the neck. With his craftmanship 'we' made a very nice bass out of that, my first bass long gone
 3.
Hi folks, I have an American Standard Jazz Bass that I had refinished last year some time, while it was away I took delivery of a Musicman Sterling USA and the poor beast's not had a look in since! And for grounding the bridge, is it just common practice to strip back the insulation on the wire and jam it underneath the bridge?
Yes!

 6. If you didn't pay for it bubinga - then it's legaly not yours to sell, even though it seems to be 'unclaimed property' so I don't know for sure. How about you try to contact the guy by any means you have & say 'look I've got £250 (or whatever it's worth) in my hand for you"

 21.
Amp is a LMII, however as I said the cabs are tolex and are angled at about 45 degrees when kicked back so I doubt velcro would work, even if I used industrial velcro stuck to the tolex (which I don't want to do, they're nice looking cabs). I certainly wouldn't be comfortabe gigging with it like that as like I said I want to use the top cab of the stack tilted so if the head fell backwards it would be a 3ft drop. I tried hanging the front feet over the cab and this is ok for using one as a floor wedge, I wouldn't trust it on top of the full stack at volume though, not without fitting bigger feet to the LMII which is an option. @ KiOgon - that looks ideal, thanks! Even with Parcelforce charges (I don't have a local Ikea) it's a good bet, should fit ok too as I only need about 26cm long. I think the measurements on the site are for the package and not the item though, do you have one to measure?
No I don't have one here to measure but looking at the laptop shown I think you'll be alright we don't have a handy Ikea either
