1. Especially when that bass comes in on SOTW still my best rock album in the world - ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mR-oI0lyck
2. Harry got in touch about a passive conversion for his G&L, great communications - a few PMs & we sorted out a circuit. Great guy to deal with, Instant payment, top fella. Cheerz, John
3.
I said it would be only a couple of weeks or so when he ordered and nothing has changed! I thought he was asking others to see how long they waited?
Fair enough, it just struck me as strange that you hadn't commented on the expected date.
4. As Alex has visited & had input here I thought he would have answered the OP's question
5. Beautifully done & inspirational! I'm off to have a go at that see you next week, I hope
6. Great guy to deal with every time, Gary's definitely one of the good ol' boys around here Cheerz, John
7. Just thought I'd throw my 2penneth in When I were a lad, we had to make basses all proper like, with pencil & paper & things for workin' it all out much brain ache Then came calculators followed by computers, then most recently - the internet & GOOGLE, (other search engines are also available), where it takes just a few clicks to be presented with all the data you could wish for. Here's a good one:- http://www.stewmac.com/FretCalculator They say life was simple back then
8. Go on then - you start how many can you find?
9. Early 70s our guitarist's sister joined us as a singer/front lady & we switched name to Felicity Grit and The Rubber Sin Band. Which was nice
10. Me - hobbyist, amateur & has been, all rolled into one played since 1 was 14 so that's 50 years on & off, last gigged in '76 before a lot of you's was even a twinkle count me out on the technical stuff, I play by ear - can pick almost anything up after a listen & play along or three. I used to say it keeps my fingers moving & helps stop the arthritis from seizing me up, but lately it's getting harder - just a few minutes playing does me still love it though
11. Andy wanted a upgrade kit for his P-bass, a couple of PMs & a swift dose of Paypal later - it was sorted. A great guy to deal with, super simple transaction, a pleasure to deal with. Cheerz, John
12. Howdo & welcome from over the border - which end of Kent are you?
13. I think - not certain - a real Japanese Fender would have Made in Japan on the neck heel, (or the other Crafted in Japan) but . . . . Looks good but overpriced IMHO.
14. If you lift the scratch plate - can you put up a picture of what's in there? Any shielding on the underside of scratchplate? Are the cavities painted with conductive paint already? Is it just the pots crackling? Or the jack?
15.
What is CITES?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=CITES
16. Nice one - enjoyed the band too
17. Give me Tina any day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5zFsy9VIdM
18. Ryan bought my Ashdown baby amp, smooth transaction, paid when he said & no problems at all, great guy to deal with. Cheerz, John
19. Can I be of service?
20. I thought Et's answer was perfectly helpful, especially given the lack of meaningful info in the request. To answer the OP in another way - "No that doesn't make sense" - a picture would help & as always - is worth a thousand words.
21. I would try Fedex first:- https://www.fedex.com/gb/account/newaccounteurope.html
22. I have a 2003 HW1 next to a 2014 RW sig, quite different basses really. Neck width 1.5 v 1.75, nut 'artificial bone' v brass. rosewood v maple fingerboard, shallow c v deep c shape/feel, truss rod at head v heel, standard MiM style v 70's style tuners. Standard Fended P pick up v Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound, Ash body (Transparent Wine) v Alder, 3 ply v single pickguard, chrome v black bridge & knobs, (BadAss bridge on the later HW1's). What have I missed? They both do the job, the RW would be my choice - based purely on the 'doing Floyd stuff' Edit: Exactly as Lozz says "I`d pick up the first decent Precision that comes along."
23. That is more than a bit nice I'm surprised it's still here after 2 days a very affordable beauty Best of luck with the sale Javier, John
24. It looks amazing - in a clever little package - go anywhere with. I'll put 1 as #1 on my birthday list for Jan next, I'll be 65 & got too many basses already!
25. Set ups & the way a bass plays is a very individual thing, what suits one player don't suit another etc.etc. Your 'expert' should know this better than anyone, if it's not right for you have a word with him, could say you should have said how you like the action - or he should have asked before he did the job.
