YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP A BIT, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
He said - "Hallo to everyone. I have an 1991 alemnbic Europa bass 4 string. Suddenly I noticed that the sound is different. I changed the batteries but nothing changed. I run it through an ampeg svt 4 pro and svt 410he. I have the same settings like before. I think that I can't hear the punch and the MIDs that I hear in the past.did anyone have the same problem in the past? I post the same to alembic club " @ mumra; Why do you say 'output jack' do you think the socket is faulty?
2. My pleasure to start a thread for Stewart, he got in touch re more tone options for his Jazz bass, he soon settled on the Stacked knob kit & I've heard very good reports from him since. Great guy to deal with, perfect transaction, very happy to recommend to all. Cheerz, John
3. Flats on everything for me - TI Jazz flats on a Jazz bass = made for the job I reckon they're the perfect gauges for a li'l ol' jazz neck
4.
http://www.thomann.d...elic_purple.htm WOW! Love it. Would never buy it though, that's a hefty price tag!
Are the pickguard screws & jack socket nut/washer - gold or rusty?
5. Hey dood, I don't know if you do your own soldering/wiring etc but if not & you need a hand - switches - soldering - connectors etc. give me a shout. Cheerz, John
6. Big +1 to the bastards & theiving scum bags + evil shysters, I F'in hate robbing bastards. Will keep my eyes open down South for you Best of luck getting your gear back. Cheerz, John

9. Not so much WOW! more WTF!
10. While it's open - if you want to grab a picture of the wiring etc.& send it to me I might be able to help.
11. First - open the bonnet & have a look - any loose wires should be obvious, check everything is where it should be & not moved around where it could be shorting to the 'most likely' conductive paint in the cavity. Cheerz, John
12. Google says: http://www.ebay.co.u...h-/251199741989
13. Needs more cowbell
14. Fourty Four F'in years ago I was there Good to hear they, (well Roger & Pete), can still rock it out
15. Another kit made for Andy - he's as straight as a dye - great to deal with, perfect transaction every time - highly commended Cheerz, John
16. Well said Shaun & if Howard sees this - all the best to him - I'm sure he's had a rough time, hope he's recovering. I'm not affected but looking forward to his return, it's good to know where to go for a 1st class job when you need it Cheerz, John
17. Here's my WD tort on AVRI '62 P-bass, unique pattern & smells of celluloid https://www.dropbox.com/s/5gqs9d7o6sopi48/2014-10-31%2018.13.58.jpg?dl=0 sorry about the flash reflection. I've still got the original Fender guard but liked the individual pattern on the WD, mind you I didn't pay so much for it
18. That takes colour blind or 'color vision deficiency' to a whole new level
19. It's not right & there's no way you should have to wait for it to be sent back anywhere. It's entirely the dealer's responsibility - if it came into the shop like it & they haven't touched it - or even if they have attempted a setup or whatever, it's their problem & not yours Such a shame to be disappointed over a lovely new bass, but stand your ground & get it replaced 'cos it's always going to niggle you if you don't. I'm sure Fender UK - East Grinstead will get it sorted
20. Personally I think the brown is OK, I've got a reddish one here, not sure if it came from him or not - but it's a bit naff
21. Furry muff This guy on ebay does a decent cheap plate; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SCRATCH-PLATE-Pickguard-to-fit-USA-Mex-PRECISION-BASS-P-Bass-in-10-Colours-/191149735203?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item2c81697d23
22. Nice tort - Bad price! http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/precision-bass-us-standard----tortoise-shell-320-p.asp
23.
do a 61/62 staked job on it (look at the one on classic and cool) Do you do a conversion like this KiOgen ?
Yes I do; https://www.dropbox.com/s/0sqcp5r6hdyh3hh/2014-09-16%2013.48.39.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/gi7e2bf3lal8q1a/2014-09-16%2013.48.19.jpg?dl=0
24. The pick ups will/should both give the same performance (give or take) it's the position referenced to the string that makes the 'bridge' position normally more treble sounding. Try reversing the polarity, swap the wires - assuming they're black & white - try them crossed over on one pick up, first choice the neck position. Assuming you have VVT - with only one tone cap?
