1. Definitely try a new battery first, that's probably all it is!
2. As the drawing Ian posted should be right, use red & black as your output with green & white joined, the outer screen with the black = ground. Cheerz, John
3. Are we taking 2 or 4 wire pick ups? Both new & old? Assuming the original pick ups were fine, in phase & no buzz - I would swap back one of the pick ups with the original & see which one of your new is out of phase.
4. That cannot comply with any safety regs I'm sure - I would get it checked out + make sure your insurances are all up to date whoever's in charge/hired you needs to sort things out.
5. No advantage to with a mono jack plug, I'm assuming you're not using the ring for active/battery switching?
6.
Did Guy play on the new PF album?
My CD is on the way from Amazon for release day - Monday I'll have a look at the credits Meant to add - yes saw Guy on Jools Tuesday, great band with Brian Ferry, wondered if Dave Gilmour & Guy had a few beers after

12. Have a word with Guy - http://www.classicguitarboxes.com/thumb_rests.php he does custom jobs, top quality work
13. These are ultra compact & steady enough for round bottomed like P bass shapes not for offset like Jazz. OK in my music room but probably not on stage! http://www.gak.co.uk/en/fender-gig-stand/69911
14. "2 x Thomann Premium GigBags Thomann's description: Water-resistant gig bag for electric bass guitar, Leatherex material, extra-firm 30mm high-density industrial padding, thomann four external accessory pockets, hide-away backpack straps, velcro neck fastener with cushion, side carrying strap with heavy metal fittings, neck and bridge protection. Internal dimensions: total length: 106cm, lower width: 36cm, upper width: 32cm, depth: 9cm. Colour: Brown These are pretty much brand new. £17.50 each" I think you need to check that length, a typical Fender P gig bag is approx 126cm
15. Enlarging existing holes in wood - on a surface you want to preserve not damage is not as easy as it sounds, drills can bite & tear the edges of the holes then you'll have a mess. A lot depends on the grain you've got in the area. The hand held tapered reamers are not meant for wood & can have the same effect. A tapered round file - used carefully with pressure on in cutting direction only - will do the job, a perfectly round hole is the least of your worries, you're not going to see it when the pots are in. The correct drills for wood have a central point with cutting edges around the circumference, these won't work to enlarge holes already there though.
16. James got in touch re. a wiring kit to upgrade his P-bass. Great communications & instant payment, a very smooth transactionl - excellent chap, a pleasure to deal with. Cheerz, John
17. Almost certainly as above the jack socket but look out for the outer tags of both volume & tone where the white wire is also the legs of the cap, anything on the live side will kill the signal if it's in contact with the earthed shielding. If all else fails - send me a picture of the pots/wiring & I'll have a looksee Cheerz, John
18.
Oh, my mistake, if it's 100% solderless, than you should go ahead and do it yourself. My sincere apologies to KiOgon for underestimating the awesomeness of his kit, I just knew, as a Polish guy, that I couldn't order one, so I never got into details not to be tempted
No apologies needed There's nothing stopping you ordering, I believe postage to Poland & many other corners of the world are very reasonable - not saying you live in a corner like

21. Personally I hate the look of those extra long pick ups, surely they're for a 10 string or something? Spoils the look for me, but I have enough trouble with 4 strings Oh! Yes the fish would have to go
