3. The title sums it up for me - "Are You Friends With Your Band Members?" In my day they were always referred to as 'band mates'
4. One of my first ever gigs - village hall youth club dance, I leant against a fire door & disappeared into the car park, nobody missed me until I came back in swearing & slammed the door
5. I'm out
6.
Does anyone have one of these with all intact as should be that you can take some photos of, that would be a great help i think. I have now found the below, but i'm not too sure where the white wire in mine should go or the two earth's that are identified on the blend pot pins.
The 2 earths shown on the blend pot tags should be wired to all the other common earths, which is what the white wire with solder tag looks like. The solder tag complete with all the earths should be screwed to the body somewhere in the cavity.
7. Howdy neighbour & welcome to the machine
8.
I'm curious as to why a thread insert would cause a problem, but a wood screw wouldn't.
I imagine the outer thread of the inserts is designed for wood & not suitable for Graphite. Although special inserts for graphite are available http://mosesgraphite.com/technical-info/threaded-insert-installation/
9. Great Sax - RIP Raphael.
10.
What are the things to look out for?
Here's a few 'wrongs' making it NOT a US Fender Bridge wrong, should be 5 screws not 7 fixing. Scratch plate; wrong too fat around controls area, wrong knobs, not a Switchcraft Jack socket, wrong number of fixing screws & in wrong places, tug bar position wrong, no cut out for truss rod access. Body edge rounding too small, arm rest chamfer wrong angle, upper horn strap button wrong place. Neck plate with serial number wrong. Fingerboard slab wrong & not a decent rosewood, hole in heel near trussrod wrong. Truss rod adjuster wrong. Nut wrong. Headstock shape & decal wrong, string tree wrong. tuners wrong. Spray in neck pocket wrong. Case wrong, should have Fender label by handle, wrong handle, wrong catches should be 3 not 4. He says "The cable channel had to be widened out a little to fit the new larger pots" wrong, they should have been full size CTS originally, " been upgraded with new more powerful pots" utter crap! For starters! All IMHO of course
11.
What are the things to look out for?
Look out for lying bastards on ebay trying to rip people off simple EDIT: BTW this should be in the ebay forum - with the other thread - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/247362-1969-precisionnot/
12. Jon ordered a wiring kit for his SQ P-bass, excellent communications & instant payment, a great guy to deal with, deal with confidence. Cheerz, John
13. http://www.ephotobay.com/share/green-jazz.html I'm sure I saw that 1st bass - the Status - on the Ocado website & they've just been awarded "Best Organic Supermarket" so it must be
14. Nice one - looks real enuf
15. The saddle height screws or the intonation ones? Whichever - after soaking in penetrating oil, not WD40 or Lighter fuel if they don't move by the appropriate screwdriver/allen key in the head, you can try gripping any portion of the thread that is protruding from the saddle enough, with a good pair of pliers or even better mole grips. If the screws are badly corroded they're going to need replacing anyway
16. Have a great gig in the sky
17. Very wrong! Reported Edit 2: I have to say they are the nastiest tuners I've ever seen
18. At least she didn't get to a tube station & get shot! Missing a band ain't the end of the world is it?
19. Yes Zenitram got the kit + case then got me to build it for him. Easy build if you know what you're doing, good kit with all the right bits - could have been better bagged but not a problem. Straightforward to build - assembling the case requires some patience looks good when it's all together & I gather Martin is rather pleased with Beyond testing it - I couldn't comment on the usefulness I'd be quite happy to build another
20.
Probably best you don't follow the link.....http://www.coda-music.com/fender-custom-shop-precision-bass-p-15040.html
I couldn't resist I'm in love

24. If it sounds good & plays OK - what's not to like? http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx Your guitar was made at the Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan in the Year(s): 1993 - 1994
25. Lovely that is, proper lush & overflowing with mojo, good score Mark I'd be tempted to take it to a 'gypsy rose' & see if she could read those lines on the back
