5. Nothing looks amiss but can't see the capacitor legs clearly. It has to be said those Jap pots ain't the best & could be a fault in the tone pot. I wouldn't worry about cutting the wires off them & putting a decent kit in there, best thing you could do IMO
6. Maybe the earth wire has come off the back of the tone pot? Have you had it apart yet? Can you get a picture up?
7. Yeah for the BC beanie it's brass monkeys out here today
8. I made a wiring kit for Nathan to convert his active bass to passive, we had lots of pms to sort out sizes etc, all first class comms, instant payment, a pleasure to deal with all the way. Cheerz, John
9. I made a P-bass wiring kit for Eddie, excellent communications & instant payment, great no hassle transaction. With a few words of encouragement he had it fitted with no trouble. Great guy to deal with, Cheerz, John
10. It completely de-couples the vibrations from my wooden floor & nothing in my practice room rattles any more - I'm a f'in poet

13.
whats the controversy?
No controversy - just there's only one bloke, Chris Squier, who ever got a decent sound out of one
14. I can just about keep up with Tom he's fitting 'em as fast as I can build 'em another P-bass kit for a top gent, always a pleasure to deal with, perfect transaction Cheerz, John
15. Just spotted this; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=141114705199&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en I saw the £10K bid so had to look thought I would share it here.
16. If you had explained it in the first place I wouldn't have had to ask, the friendly nature of this forum is such that a lot of members like to share information. I can't see any harm in that.
17. I found this; http://www.mandolinluthier.com/wood_back_rosewood.htm
18.
Thanks for that folks - I may well have a go at swapping one around to see what effect it has. And it's nothing like the way a jazz 'spreads out' when you bring in both pickups Woodinblack - I know what you mean, but this just sounds wrong! :-) Has anyone got a wiring diagram they could post for a standard two-volume-one-tone passive setup?
Simples - http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=std_jazz_bass
