You'll need a tone cap in there - or maybe not - if you leave it out on all your basses & some string to tie the pots & jack together with
Should be a nice bass
- "multi-ply mahogany tone wood" -
I remember Gibson got into trouble for buying & using protected species of rare & valuable exotic timbers - but now 'plywood'?

Hi Chris - I think your '57 link is missing something it takes me to my home page
The '69 looks lovely though
My pleasure to start a thread for Joe, he contacted me re. a wiring kit for his Jazz bass with a Volume/Blend/Tone set up.
Great communications & instant payment, all round good guy to deal with, no problems.

Shirley it depends on the strings - some you have to cut, some you don't.
I rarely cut any off except maybe a little off the E for Fender headstocks, I like plenty of winds down the post but never overlapping or bunching.
Matt got in touch re a kit to upgrade his lovely P-Lyte, great communications, instant payment & after a few PMs to & fro we've got it all sorted, great guy to deal with.

Err - shouldn't he be locked up for his own safety, or at least in a straight jacket
How about a diclaimer: DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

J bass (as you so eloquently put it) stacked knobs are about £25 a pair for the real ones as used on USA '60's RI etc. the 'pots' are CTS concentric 250K volume & 500K tone.
I've had mine (Number 001) almost 3.5 years, it's been used just about every day & not missed a beat sounds great at home volume with LB112 + Mini 48 cabs, both ported.

My choice is the GHS Black Nylon Tapewound, probably very similar to the Picato & LaBella already mentioned not sure about where the tension fits in with them.
I've been catching this tune on the radio for weeks now & thinking it was Fleetwood Mac then I found this rooftop version - OK what's the bass?
