1. Very nice Nick, I can feel a in garden photo session coming soon Cheerz, John
 2. I'd say it's on the high side of OK, credit cards are usually approx 30 thou, for a flat low action I'd aim for 12 - 15 like a business card. If it suits your playing that's fine where it is. Cheerz, John
 3. That - my dear Skank - is most excellent thank you sir. PM coming your way Cheerz, John

 5. I have a vintage tinted head that had some lacquer flaking off, preparing it for a new coat - just in a small area - I've rubbed through the tint, now need something to touch it up with before top coat. Suggestions on a postcard please Cheerz, John

 13. Is there any easy way to identify them? Or do they have any specific features visible? Simply - how do I tell if they are? Cheerz, John

 15.
I pushed down against the nut sideways and down and still the noise persists
Do you mean you've pressed against the 'string nut'? I'm asking if the truss rod adjuster nut is tight?
 16.
The relief has been set to fender specs, the intonation has been set on all 4 strings so bridge springs are all compressed to varying degrees.

I did take the truss rod nut out and inspect it and oil slightly and then put back together as I was under the impression it was probably the issue but to no avail, I swapped the E string for a spare and if I am honest it felt like the noise was reduced marginally but still there to some degree.
You haven't answered the question though
 17. You say you have set the relief, are you certain the truss rod nut is 'tightened' so the truss rod is under tension? If it's loose there could be a vibration setting in at the head end of the rod.
 18. I would go for 1 volume, 1 tone & series/parallel switch, if you did want more complicated you could add another switch for top coil/both/lower coil as well. If you need a wiring kit made up I can do for you. http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/products/basslines/501040-110.pdf Cheerz, John

 20.
I'm sorry to be picky but I think it's a highway 1, not a (later) highway one ?
It says 2003 in the header, first year the Highways were introduced, they don't get any earlier than that. I would love it to partner my 2003 Highway 1 Precision in Crimson Red, they'd look lovely together GLWTS Rich
 21. I made a P-bass wiring kit for Lloyd a while ago - don't know what happened to the feedback - so this is a double as I've just done a Jazz bass kit for him too As always a pleasure to deal with, great communications & instant payment, excellent basschatter. Cheerz, John
