1. Hi Bert, I can only speak for the Little Bastard, mine is the 1st - Serial Number 1 - of the hand made UK 100. I've had it from new, straight from the factory & it's been used almost every day since. Not a problem, day in day out, so ultra reliable in my experience & the tones available are everything an all valve amp should be, can't fault it, does everything I want in a amp. I must admit, it's old school, that's just right for me. Traditionalness? Yes indeed, absolutely in bucket loads I've recently bought a new MiBass 220 for the 'alternative' sounds & the portability, it does exactly what it says on the packet with Ashdown tones by the ton. Can't comment on the PRC made LB models, other than I've not heard of any problems with them. Haven't touched an Orange amp for 30 or more years I suppose, they were good in the day but I always used HiWatt I'm sure you'll get plenty of replies from the current Orange Bass Terror owners to balance with my views. Cheerz, John
2. Is it just the one bass you get this with - have you tried another?
3. Talk to GAK & insist on a replacement, you're well covered by distance buyer legislation to return it for any reason.
4. I particularly like the " white felt bushes that I get from Holland," I reckon that's what he's been smoking
5. ^ As above ^ I made a Jazz bass wiring kit for Dean this time, great guy to deal with. Cheerz, John
6. The Bass Doc is a master of all things pickguard, send him a PM he's a diamond geezer
7. Resurrecting a > year old Peanuts thread? They'll be past their best I'm sure, maybe green & mouldy, probably best left down the back of the sofa
8.
but a Gilmour lookalike is a huge incentive!
Calm down Deb As much as I'd like to see another Floyd tribute, especially for a £10 ticket, sorry won't be there, but all the best with the gigs.
9. I made another 'special little' wiring kit for Lee, as always a complete pleasure to deal with, no messing, top geezer! Cheerz, John
10. The picture is fine, that's how it is, white from the pickup is the 'hot' the other side - black is ground.
11.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm going to play until my hands seize up completely through arthritis or my brain turns so spongy I can't remember the notes (or where I put the bass in the first place, or what a bass is)
Hoi! I resemble that comment
12. I bought a new Traben that had the Volume & Blend pots swapped over in the wrong place. When I looked at another in GAK it was the same, I pointed out it was not as it should be according to the manual but they didn't bother about it, the usual "No-one else has complained".
13. I just bought a bridge from Gareth, exactly right, great comms. well packed & fast delivery. Perfect transaction with a top fella, deal with confidence. Cheerz, John
14.
Er.. guys.. Wear on the back is identical, as are the curtains ......
Well found, now you mention it, I thought I'd seen it before! So it looks real but a scam?
15. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=musicman_passive I can make you a solderless kit if you're not so good at soldering. Cheerz, John
16. Looks about right to me I'd say real from what I can see not sure if the volume knob is a bit shiny Where's Rick?
17. TBH bit sick of it already Radio 2 have been playing it to death IMO, I keep thinking there's bits of several previous in it, not exactly new & original - more like a mash of some of the riffs Keef can still remember bits from & lyrics Shagger has embedded in his grey matter somewhere Can't imagine it sounding good live, if they actually play it live, sorry chaps.
18. Part of the pleasure of having a brand new bass I'd say just wouldn't be the same without the ritual removing of the sticky stuff
19. From the pofessionals: http://www.stewmac.com/tradesecrets/ts0151_polystripping.hzml?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ts0151
20. Any chance of some more bigger better pictures?
21.
Gig verdict......Ace. I had no problem being heard on stage with a 6 piece tonight-even with just one cab,I was plenty loud enough. Tonally,I was really happy tonight. I've been using 10" speakers for pretty much all of my gigs since '99,and have never bothered with 12",but it was great. Importantly,I was getting the sound that I want-clear and full range (the bass was a Warwick LX5,if you're interested),even with the OC2,it never got muddy. There's no attenuator for the horn but I didn't need one because it wasn't harsh like some are, even when slapping. Plus,it was dead easy to carry. I'm not just saying this, but the MiBass 550 and the Mi12" cab is a great choice for a gigging musician, both for tone and transportation.
Sweet good to know. Cheerz, John
22. I built a wiring kit for Peter then he decided to have a sight seeing bass fixing drive about so he brought the bass along for a little 'fettling'. We spent a very basschat hour or two, like you do, I almost had to forcibly remove my AV '62 P from his grip before we said goodbyes he liked that one Excellent guy to deal with, no problem in recommending him completely, a diamond geezer. A real pleasure to meet you Peter, call in & say hello any time you're passing again & many thanks for the tipple I hope you enjoyed the rest of your journey around. Cheerz, John
