I have tried pretty much every brand and type of string, but I can't remember which ones come with a taper core on the B and E strings. Any suggestions please ?
i ve tried couple of sei at bass gallery, i wasen't impress at all , the action was horrible and felt horrible , they where second hand , so i don't know if they need it to have some job done. hopefully one day i ll try another one and change my mind about them.they do look amazing though
Like the previous poster said, they would have been set up for the previous owner. You know your basses, and they're set up for you. I just bought a beautiful Sei Jazz. It was set up quite nicely when I bought it, but after a bit of adjustment it's now brilliant.

This is in really, really great condition. It features the following - A bolt-on 24 fret carbon fibre neck. Flamed maple facing wood over a mahogany body. Status soap bar pickups. Status 3 band active circuit. Original Hiscox/Status case. A Protec Contego gig bag. A spare set of Status double ball end strings. The action is super low, and it sounds fantastic. I'm selling it because I'm buying a really, really nice Jazz bass. I would really prefer the buyer to collect this. However I am in London several days a week, so it would be possible to meet up. I will be taking it into Mark at Bassdirect in the next couple of days, as a commission sale. £1150, or trade for a really nice fretless 5 string or maybe a Stingray 5 in sunburst, natural or white finish only.

NO LONGER FOR SALE Epifani 502 amplifier and Aguilar Rack Gig-Bag

Dood - it's switchable between the two seies and parallel. I can really recommend these, they sound fantastic......well you've only to look at the players who use them, players who can probably use any amp that they wanted. I'm using an Epi 3x10, I should imagine that your 6x10 would sound pretty damn good. -

It'd be cool if Michael Manring and Steve Lawson could make it as well.

Don't use Parcel2go..........basically they are crap. They don't turn up and collect the parcel when they're supposed to, and their customer service is an absolute joke, the customer service helpline closes at 5.15pm, very handy so you can't phone up to complain that your parcel hasn't been collected. When you email them they don't bother to answer.

I mostly play jazz and funk. But I think that once you've got used to the extra notes then you can use it for any genre of music. I couldn't manage now with just a 4 string bass, I was playing a 5 string for many years, and a 6 for the last few years. I'd really miss the low notes, the lowest E flat on a 4 string is only a semitone lower than the low E on a guitar, a lot of stuff I play is in E flat. And the high C string is there when you need it, a lot of people now play a 5 string with a high C and a detuner. Definately stick with it.

I remember playing a single fretted one of those, and being really disappointed in the sound, it had a very thin sound and no sustain. I believe Ned Steinberger had the same experience when he first came up with the design, until he clamped it down to a work bench, obviously the bass he ultimately built was made of carbon fibre to overcome the poor sound. I bet you don't have that trouble with this one though, that's very nice !. I bet you get a few odd looks when you open the case and take that out.

Reggie Washington is a superb acoustic/electric player, it'll be worth going just to see him play.
