  1. He weighs a comfortable 4.15 kgs or just over 9 and a bit pounds. When I first picked him up I was pleasantly surprised, as I was expecting the Ash body to weigh in heavier.
  2. I seem to recall it was Synergy Distribution. I wonder why they no longer act for PJB?
  3. Such a shame to read this shocking ‘service’. I have owned (and still do) many PJB products over the years and have found them reliable and with excellent sound and build quality. I have emailed Phil Jones and always received a prompt and helpful reply. I hope he and his team consider finding a new UK specialist to help them.
  4. It’s just after 10.30pm.....how am I going to sleep tonight after seeing this?!?! What a fantastic looking bass. GLWTS.
  5. Lovely! I think this should sell very quickly….sadly not to me!
  6. I don’t recall seeing anything other than a natural finish on these basses. Very nice!
  7. There is no single coil hum. The active system can add real depth or biting treble to the tone if required.
  8. Hopefully a fellow BCer might have some ideas. I’d certainly like to hear them….
  9. I’m very happy using a lightweight Harley Benton LightCase (£41). Fits on the back seat of the car and is a good compromise between a plastic or wooden hard case and a well padded gig bag.
  10. Ah....its twin! I took the neck off to tweak the truss rod and a couple of little lacquer cracks have appeared in the nitro around the neck pocket. I’m okay with that - all part of the ageing process! Yes, the camouflaged side dots are not really suited to anything other than full light!
  11. Many thanks Chris!
  12. Chris bought a used Markbass head gig bag from me. An absolute pleasure to deal with and paid immediately. Great communications throughout - top guy!
  13. Hmmm…. Do I sense a whiff of BS… I would definitely look to swap it.
  14. Is this what Fender did around 2005 with the S1 switching? If so, it used to work a treat on my Jazz and certainly provided way more depth when engaged. Then add an old set of flats......!
  15. I have been asked if the frets are original - I certainly believe they are. There is no evidence of disturbed fingerboard as far as I can see.
  16. Fender Mustang Bass made in 1972 in an original and well used condition, with plenty of bumps, bruises, dings, paint checking and discolouration. The blue finish has turned to a petrol green colour but the original colour can be seen under the bridge, neck pocket and pickguard. A previous owner had used glue under the pickguard to try and prevent warping and shrinkage (not the first time I have heard of this being done!) but thankfully most of the original paint remains, albeit somewhat messy. There are two areas where the top layer of the pickguard has split around two screws but it is still secure and does not go through the other 2 plys. The ink stamps date the bass to 1972 and the pots to 6th week, also 1972. The frets are in good shape, the fingerboard has some very nice grain and the truss rod turns freely in both directions. The tuners work well but have some tarnishing as expected, likewise the bridge which still has the facility to add foam mutes if required. The tug bar has a split and only one screw but is the original reddish coloured version. I have always liked the red shadow these leave on light coloured pickguards! It has a new set of La Bella MUS flatwounds which really do suit the bass and ensure a decent low end thump! The bass weighs in at a mere 3.25kgs or 7 and a bit pounds. Sadly I have discovered that short scale basses are just not for me and will stick to long scale but no doubt in a few years when I am even more decrepit, I’ll regret letting this go! To ensure any prospective buyer is happy, I would much prefer this to be a collection only. I would also much prefer a straight sale but would be willing to consider a lower priced Precision or Jazz as a part exchange. Please feel free to ask for any further information!
  17. I think that is an interesting option.....and probably the best option as a backup for the tort. I’ll order one and next time I change the strings (in a few years knowing me!) I’ll change the pickguard and it will feel like a new bass day all over again!
  18. That is an absolute beauty! Love it!
  19. Markbass gig bag / carry case for LM heads. The head can be kept / used in the carry case as both ends can be unzipped. Carry handle only, no backstraps included. Zipped front pocket for leads etc. Fair overall condition and still very secure and useable. £28.50 includes postage to most areas.
