My best bass purchase in 2023 is my 20 year old American Vintage RI Precision. Now set up with a set of TI flats, it sounds, plays and feels great. I think it looks quite good too! Definitely a keeper. The AVRI series are really good basses. A Laney Digbeth preamp found its way to my home in 2023 and is another keeper!

That would seem like a great pairing! Unfortunately, my cab is only 300mm wide, so I am limited to the 200 head, unless I change the cab! Also, the 500 head weighs more than my cab!

Andy bought a set of unused half rounds from me. The very helpful people at Laney confirmed approximately half the watts at 8ohms, which I guess I was expecting. I wonder why some manufacturers have 500w heads at 4ohms and the same head does 300w at 8ohms....more efficient in some way(?).....but no doubt far too technical for my old brain to understand! 😁

They look like TIs to me..... Great strings btw and perfect for a nice Precision or Jazz! 😁

....... or use as a decorative piece.....! Hang it it on a wall...? Er...um... Oh, okay, yes, turn it upside down put some legs on it and use it as a side table.... 😁
