1. I'd be interested in the cab. Been looking for a small cab and this should do it...
2.
The VU meter is for OUTPUT not input like most other Ashdowns. It confused me at first also. I replaced the two ECC83 valves...try going for a high output design, this will over drive the input and give a warm slightly distorted sound.
Ahhhh that makes sense.... now. I was thinking of changing the valves to Mullards like you did, do you think they've a high enough output??
3. The Spyder was delivered today... Really great looking amp in its shiney chrome splender! Sounds fantastic , but I don't seem to be able to get an overdriven sound out of it when cranking the gain up and the VU needle doesn't budge as far as I thought it would - Have I got a duff one or am I being a cock?
4.
I think Ashdown are aware of the DI problem. Should be rectified on future units.
I've ordered it now and sent an email out to Ashdown to see if they could fit DI XLR and tuner out at some point....
5. I'm on the verge of buying one of the new Ashdown Spyder 550 amp which will fit into my Ashdown custom made Combo cab which would make my ABM EVO 575 III combo head surplus to requirements - The Combo head is would be sleeveless and also there is no... erm top to the amp ie once you take the amp out of the combo cab the amps insides are exposed..... Any takers give me a shout
6. On the verge of getting the Spyder just a little miffed about the lack of XLR ( i'll have to carry an adapter me thinks) and Tuner out...... Anyone know if it's an easy job to mod an amp with DI XLR and a Tuner out?? Ashdown built me a Combo cab with a 2 u rack space so the Spyder would be ideal - mind you I think i'll sell the combo ABM EVO III amp..
7.
Wow, no balanced XLR DI? No deal!
There is on the combo version.....
8. i'd really like to try one of these fellas out, checked the PDF manual for it and was shocked that there is no XLR out (just the jack) and no Tuner out.... guess i,ve been spoilt by my ABM and Trace amps.... ;-)

10.
Oh god - only 4 episodes of the final season left... Yes, I am a really bad person. So - white/black bound/set neck Faker for cheap? I really like that, imo it p!sses all over the Rockinbetters & Anniversarys aesthetically, and I think the fat MM 'buckers look really good. Dammit - I want one! J.
Me tooooo and I like the Stingrays as well.....
11.
Indeed. Although they may be fibbing. Anyway, what exactly are these like? Do they play/sound nice?
I wrote a review of the Rockinbetters here The newer Rockinbetters are a lot better in terms of bridge and neck pup placement have a look on my facebook group here
12. I've got an old Trace SMX and was thinking of replacing the Valve, has anyone eperimented with different valves and if so which did you find worked the best with the Trace????
13. I'm thinking of taking the amp out of my Ashdown combo so I don't have to lug the whole combo down to rehearsals. Has anyone done this and could you recommend a decent amp sleeve that would fit it?? Cheers...
14. Thought they'd be a pile of sh1te.... Some of those fakers look really bad , but one or two look good from what you can tell by the pix....

20. Up for sale is my Epiphone Thunderbird Pro in Black. It's one hell of a bass - The only reason i'm selling it is because i've been offered a vintage Rickenbacker bass and need to free up some cash, otherwise I wouldn't be selling it. It's in great condition and has only been gigged once and comes with a Warwick RB20624B E-Bass Rockbag Premium Line Epiphone Thunderbird Pro-IV TB - mahogany body, walnut/maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 34" long scale, 20 frets, 2x Epiphone bass humbucker pickups, 2x volume and 2x tone controls, active, black hardware. Colour: Trans Black. If you have any questions please ask..... i'll post pix later
21. got this up on the bay again....
22.
Bloody hell Medany, can't you keep a bass for more than a week? Anyway, this one had me a bit stumped when Dangerboy had it - not sure it's a Greco because the late 70s/early 80s ones (Japan-only so you get them through the 80s & beyond) were the same as late model Ibanez, so it would probably have checked binding. Continuing on the Jap-only market direction, this is similar to a Fernandes - the ones I've seen don't have a skunk-stripe but plainly you can't tell whether this does, unless it has paint chips in a convenient place. I've also seen Fresher-branded ones which have similar construction & (presumably) original hardware but basically I really don't know. There were loads of really good single-truss neck through copies, but without original name TRCs and original hardware it's anyone's guess what they were and where they came from. This might not even be JapCrap - there were some gorgeous & very accurate Brazilian copies, made by Giannini. Anyway, all the Rick parts & pup would cost more than the asking price anyway, so £300 is pretty damn good, I'd say. Jon.
Ha your right i've sold a lot recently!!! As I say i've been offered a 1982 Rickenbacker and needed some funds, I just hope the Rickenbacker doesn't fall through like the last one did!! Fingers crossed
23.
Shiiiit that's nice. Is it much different to a real one?
I'd say it was very close to the real thing - when I used it live I got some positive comments about the sound , and they thought it was a real Rick!
24. I know i'm gonna regret this but needs must.... I've been offered a real Rickenbacker (that needs abit of TLC) and need to raise some funds. I recently brought this from Dangerboy from this site I'm not sure what make this Rickenfaker is but I have a feeling it's a Greco (I'm sure Bassassasin will put me straight)- it's certainly 70s. Anyway it's got a quite a few battle scars as you can see from the pix but is good playable condition (i've gigged with it) and really looks the part. Specs: Real Ric pups Black 'Rickenbacker' TRC look alike. bloody good copy.. Real Rickenbacker Bridge. Vintage tuners. Stereo output. any questions you know where I am http://www.photobox.co.uk/slideshow?album_id=331988811
