5.
Correct primers are essential for a durable finish. This stuff sticks to just about anything - including aluminium. The only downside to it is that it doesn't come in spray form & doesn't brush out that well. Stickier than a big stick with "Stick" written on it. Pete.
Good point re: the correct primers. Any suggestions on decent primers..? oh and clear coat? Might as well get it looking the best I can. Cheers fellas
 6.
probably get the worst off with a 100 grade paper....the. a little higher to smooth things off....even some wire wool before you prime just to smooth things up......must admit i like the idea of the chroming though!
Thanks for the tips.... yeah I like the idea of chroming as well.. For the moment though i'm going to just stick to spraying an maybe get some decals made up as well..
 7.
most automotive sprays out of a can will be durable enough to take more than a few stomps, just make sure you use an appropriate primer like an etching primer so the that the top coat bonds.....the original finishes are powder coated and ideally you want to get rid of that old finish...bit of good old sanding i reckon as a stripper might not touch it
thanks for that ... Re: the sanding any particular grade of sandpaper??
 8.
MB1. ..Get them beadblasted and Chromeplated.
Nice idea..........!!
 9. Hello there, I've got a few battered boss pedals that I was thinking of respraying- Can anyone suggest a decent spray that will do a long lasting job. Oh and what would be the best way to prep them??? many thanks Ian.

 11.
I see you sold your Aria Tab bass. I was thinking about it for a while, as I would like a 4 string (semi-?) hollow short scale bass with humbuckers, but Rickmansworth was too far to go to try it out before bidding. Your Westfield listing says that you considered putting a quarter pounder pickup on the bass, but that you never got around to it. Forgive me if I'm being rude, but I'm curious as to why that comment is there in the listing. If you said that you "never got around to it because the standard Westfield pup does the job admirably" or something like that, then it would make sense. But reading the listing, my response is just "????????".
Whooops! I'm glad someones paying attention, I clearly wasn't  ...... I rushed it is all I can say. Cheers
 12. my westfield is here Bloody good bass!!
 13. No sorry mate. Ian.
 14. As above ..... In full working order comes with power adaptor as it doesn't use batteries.

 19.
Oh and Hooky, did you never have a Hondo then? I was sure you'd owned one - maybe it's just your user name that gave me that impression.
Yeah I've had two of them, one was a basket case that I harvested the parts from the other was really decent considering it was plywood.....
 20. I got mine just before Crimbo - my first Fender!! I love it, really great comfy bass to play. did the research before buying so I know about it's limitations electronics wise..... Possible upgrades - Quarter Pounders Matching scratch plate Fender HMV bridge ( don't like the look of the Badass) Something to replace the Fender Pre amp Early days yet, so i'm going to give it a good seeing to first!
 21.
Rockinbetter. Listing says Tokai, bass doesn't.
Mmmmm they look interesting..... It looks like a 'Tokai' with Anniversary Pups , bridge switches etc. it doesn't say if it's set or thru neck and also I can't work out if the headstock has the Rick slant to it - The Older batches of 'Tokai' didn't have the slanted back headstock where as the Anniversarys do. In answer to an older question re: the Anniversarys..... I think they are well built but the electrics let them down a bit. I retro fitted mine with Ricky pups and it sounded fantastic. I''ve had the Tokai and Anniversary Rickenfakers and they really are well built , it's just the electrics that let them down IMO My Tokai review is here
