You've got it wrong. The giant butterflies stole their boat & left them stranded on the rocks. They did put up a fight & managed to kill 2 of the giant butterflies though. One's on the rocks & the other is downed in the sea.
....the perfect scene for creating some sort of "camp-metal" track Good luck to everyone, I probably won't be joining in this month.

A rather large CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS Alibabu, a very worthy winner! A big thankyou to those who felt mine deserved a vote, and a very special mention to everyone else who made some great music ...er well that's everyone who entered then! Happy New Year to you all. ps I vote Alibabu to choose next month's picture.. Cheers, James.

Hello, I am selling a pair of 8" uniK active monitors by German company ESI... excellent quality, and in fantastic condition...Bought new by myself. 8" Kevlar woofers, ribbon tweeters, balanced input XLR / TS 1/4 inch, bass roll off and treble attn. switches on rear. Not abused at all, you could say barely run in, used only a few times at modest volume over approx 18 months, they are however around 90 watts each and very powerful. The monitors will come with power leads and original boxes/packaging. Originally these were around the £400+ mark each, but I am looking for £200 for the pair...... plus 24hr courier costs to UK Mainland Only. Payment: Bank transfer only please. I need to sell these, so whoever deposits money into my account first gets 'em ! I can only offer a postal service currently as my work pattern is ever changing therefore it's a bit hard to pin me down to be available for personal collections. Quite possibly Dad....I hired Rudolf to play the drums on this one....if you listen really closely you can hear me kicking the cat in utter frustration* *(not really.... no cats or reindeer were harmed in the making of this tune, they were all played by actors)

Please may I join thank you As I do not participate in Xmas at all, I thought I would have a go at doing something completely unfestive.... Sadly I failed soo........... here is a sleighbell ridden ,french horn and handbell, cheese infested Xmas tune I came up with for this quite frankly in my opiniated opinion ...hideous time of the year....it is called "December"...not sure why.........nice picture for inspiration though ! https://soundcloud.c...hat-composition also available to listen to here at my "website" ..... while you listen see if you can locate the hidden link to a secret page somwhere on the site : http://jclarke1973.wix.com/foolsjourney Cheers, James

Sorry, I also will not be able to submit a composition for this month. I had a really good idea on the go, but just haven't been able to get it sorted in time... hopefully I will be back in it for next month though. Good luck to all composers ! Cheers, James.

An attempt at covering "White Eagle" by Tangerine Dream https://soundcloud.com/chris-j-clarke/white-eagle-tangerine-dream-cover

Cool cover Andrej, love Camel but not listened to Rajaz enough, though I have the cd.... sounds like you nailed Andy Latimer's tone , at least to my non-guitarist ears! I never see much mention of Colin Bass around these parts..... I wonder if he's guilty of some bass - related crime..hmm. James

Mine is going exceptionally well.... in my head. I just need to find a way of switching off the *epic music removal filter* located somewhere between my brain and hands now... have checked and it's definitely not an effects pedal. James

Very interesting choice.... I may spend a bit longer on this month's piece, time allowing of course.... I am off to study the pic for a while, and get into "the (war) zone" James

A huge *~*~*~ Well done ~*~*~* to Lord Sausage for winning this month's challenge... prime 100% pork,no lumps of fat or gristle...guaranteed James

March Play(s...) of the Day (New, improved, formula...)...
Bleat replied to Dad3353's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the review Dad! You have now given me a great excuse to insult the next Alto Sax player I have the misfortune of listening to.... "turn that bl**dy ...whats-it-called....*synth harmonica* thing down will you! Givin' me earache it is!" Cheers, James -
After several listens to all compositions, and a lot of thought 'cos they ALL have much merit ,my votes in no particular order this month will go to : Skol: really liked this especially the cool bass playing, and general feel of the track. Dad: for some nice creative touches throughout. Lurksalot: For doing something totally out of the box! Cheers, James

Hello, This piece includes a bit of everything..(including the sound of panic when I saw the closing date) plus the kitchen sink, which you can hear towards the end of the track. Unfortunately Kenny G. wasn't available to record the obligitory sax solo (ugh), however his half brother Ali was. Production quality is not stellar, I was attempting a less "bassy" mix for this one... http://soundcloud.com/chris-j-clarke/high-riser
It gets my vote too. Well done to Bleat. Cracking tune. I enjoyed listening to the others too & it would have been hard to choose just one. Looking forward to this mumph's comp. Cracking pic.
Thanks xgsjx Going to go back to playing some good old classic hard rock stuff on my bass now, none of this namby pamby composing lark

Recently aquired Washburn Idol bass, strangely enough in black.

Maybe it should be renamed the "March Eyesight Challenge"

Well I'm genuinely amazed I won, thank you so much to everyone who felt my tune was worth a vote... it's definitely given me some confidence I've been lacking of late... next time I will try and use a real bass! Everyone's compositions were truly great, I really would have voted for everyone else if it was possible. A special mention must go to Bilbo though for basically coming joint 1st. I will be making multiple copies of my certificate and posting them in various places around town. Cheers, James

I boughtBryan's Washburn Idol bass. Great communication, a good deal, and can recommend to all Basschatters. James.

Hi Dad, hah no trade secrets, hocus pocus or mumbo jumbo going on...just a fairly straight forward fretless bass sample (with a bit of chorus added) from IK Sampletank 2 played by myself on a fairly cheap Alesis midi controller........it's my favourite bit of the whole thing to be fair as I just let my fingers do their thing in one take... had I owned a real fretless I would have played it all proper like Glad you like it for what it is, I guess it is is a litteral and metaphorical tune really...life would be boring if we all took the same journey Cheers, James.

Hello, Thought I would submit a tune for the composition challenge if that's ok ...only had just had over a week to get something done inbetween split shift working days so only a handful of hours really, so possibly not going to be my greatest ever hit as it currently stands! I looked "into" the picture, and just went with where it took me...on a journey as it happens! I have used all virtual instruments... no trains were harmed in the making of this music http://soundcloud.com/chris-j-clarke/journey Cheers James.
