Audio Technica ATH-M50X. Tons of bassy goodness π

On the left, the infamous mudbucker. On the right...

It's a Stagg bass fitted with their unique "Ermmmm?... Bucker" -
I lost interest at "bassist".
-
Naming instruments? C'mon man Grow up! They are just pieces of wood with strings. In fact I was talking to my bass Gladys about how ridiculous it all is just the other day when I was putting her to bed.
-
I use Swing Bass 30-85 and have done for quite a while. Not the usual thing for a "rock" bass player but then I'm a rebel very much do what I want π. The light gauge and low action allows me to play more lightly and faster if I need to. I also have a bass Xtender with a double stop lever so can drop D and Low B. The D is fine and sounds great, though low B is a tad floppy.

SWR T/O/P + Goliath III. Also posted in the SWR section. I like the punchy hi-fi quality to it, reminds me of my old Trace gear. Not had chance to play with it much so far, though I think it has the potential to knock walls down.

My only bass at the moment, and the one I could never part with.
-
Another Gibson Les Paul bass that I can look at lovingly and moan about being too damn heavy.

These are called the Solfeggio frequencies. While I can't claim how effective they are, it's interesting that we all have favourite music which we "resonate" with. It's is nothing more than combinations of frequencies and waveforms all of which can be measured. One's personal, emotional reaction to it can't... I would call music a true metaphysical phenomena.

I was careful not to use the phrase "talent knob" as I generally use that when referring to guitarists, however I do think guitars should come fitted with some sort of "knob bypass circuit".
-
It's already been mentioned, but I think the Boss LMB3 is a great pedal. Does exactly what you want it to.
-
I sound barely average on pretty much every bass that's ever been in my hands regardless of cost. I would pay extra for a talent control though.

The older Laney bass amps eg the RB heads are fairly neutral sounding, so a good option if you want to hear the sound of your bass more than the tone of an amp. I had a Laney RB 300watt 2x15" rig for a while a couple of years ago, and also used a Laney Keyboard combo in a live band for a couple of years around 2001. It never let me down and was plenty loud enough for the style of music. I have a little Laney Hardcore Max combo now but don't really use it.

...except the pedal probably tastes better.

I think this is known as the Jersey Blues π -
Yeah I get all that, just found it funny seeing so many on there. I will just look for something else. I have watched a few JHS vids and find him quite entertaining but I do think he's become too big and influential and knows it. I saw the pedals before I had seen his review. I'll wait until they are worth Β£25 quid again!
-
Has anyone else seen the amount of Bad Monkey pedals now suddenly appearing on ebay going for ridiculous prices thanks to that JHS demo on Youtube. I was looking for a cheap overdrive pedal and thought "Might try a Bad Monkey, they don't go for much".... how wrong I was. Amazing how one man's word can price people out of what is nothing more than a cheap budget overdrive pedal.

Up for grabs is my brilliant Chord OC-50 Octave Pedal in excellent condition. It is built like a tank, tracks exceptionally well, and is as close to the Boss OC-2-as you will get without buying a Boss OC-2. It has dry/ wet mix, does oct 1 down, and can be set to either + oct 2 sub down or oct 1 + overdrive/ fuzz which can be mixed in as required and is a great feature.. It's like being Muse all in one pedal! It has a small mark at front of footswitch as shown, and there is still a little bit of plastic protective stuff round the bottom of concentric pots which I haven't managed to prise off. Battery or 9v supply powered, neither included. Price includes postage to UK Mainland addresses only.

Hopefully mine will end at the bit where Zender pulls his signature pedal out of his pocket and repeatedly demands in a loud German accent that Warwick guy gives us a demo of it. -

I'm going to have nightmares tonight about being sat between Stuart Zender and JK in a pub unable to move, then that other bloke walks in with his god awful Warwick 7 string fretless. -
Up for sale is my Moen Uni-Comp pedal. It is in near mint condition and comes with original box and instructions. It can be powered by battery or 9v supply, both tested and working. To clarify that the little black marks are part of the cosmetics! It has a very good review at ovnilabs, and is meant to be based on the Diamond Compressor. I cannot vouch for how close it is in that respect though. It gets quite squishy at higher settings, has tons of gain, and is a very quiet pedal. It has a tilting EQ for tonal adjustment. I would like Β£35.00 which I think is fair considering these do not come up very often, and this is a fine example. Price will include postage and will send to UK Mainland addresses only. Cheers, James.
