  1. It looks like something I would expect to find on MDP's ebay page minus wonky machine heads. It's even In the same price range too.
  2. I've had a Jubilee cab couriered to me no problem before with just some protection across the front grill. I also got a quote for a DBS cab (36kgs) recently which was about £40. It could be an option if you are struggling to get anyone to pick it up. Buyer will still be getting a very well priced cab even with an extra cost. It would be a shame to see this end up getting abuse in a rehearsal room somewhere. I'm broke at the moment sadly, but would definitely be interested in a few weeks time.
  3. My Marshall is class H. I won't pretend to know all the technical ins and outs but I understand it utilizes a secondary power supply that kicks in to handle massive peaks. Either way it sounds awesome and definitely the best sounding amp I've owned by far.
  4. Hopefully the subsequent video will only take half the time of the first yawn-fest due to the fact it's only one pickup to be outraged about instead of 2.
  5. £237 quid for an Aria Magna bass? !...pahahahaaa... *cough*....haaaa
  6. I have owned one of these, it is a beast of a cab. Shame it's not a DBS 4x10, or I would be on my way down to Bristol. Someone will be getting a bargain and a half at that price. 👍
  7. I would spend the extra money and get the actual Aria Pro II version. It is their original design after all, which I quite like. I nearly bought a Detroit bass a while ago. Sorry but not tempted by a HB copy of an already relatively budget friendly instrument even if the price is favourable. Just my personal opinion.
  8. "Metallic Dark Blue"
  9. When I was gigging I always had just one bass at a time. I played a Korean Ibanez ATK for a few years, and an Aria Pro II for quite a while when I first started playing. Both served me well. Over the last few years I've gone through loads of basses, but now currently I have just 2 with another turning up next week, so will have 3. I could absolutely just live with my Washburn only as it does everything I want it to, sounds great and just feels right with a nice low action which I like. I also fitted a bass xtender plus double stop lever so can get a low D and a Low B if I need it. It's nice to have a break and play another bass for a bit of tonal variation and a different feel every so often, but it also helps me appreciate my main bass even more when I come back to it.
  10. Guns And Roses? Homer....? No, see, look.... you said "Beethoven" and then...... actually no forget it, the joke just isn't funny when it needs explaining. 😐
  11. How can you compare AC/DC to a film about a St Bernard dog !
  12. Is it part of the new Harley Benton " Can't Be Arsed To Paint It Properly" range?
  13. He's definitely "making a humbucker out of a single coil". 😐
  14. It's still a great sounding short scale bass regardless of the *not humbucker* issue, which I agree does need to be changed. My world hasn't collapsed because of this revelation however, and I would absolutely get another when I can afford it. In fact I would say one of the best basses I've owned at any price.
  15. #1 - Washburn B-200
  16. Can't really offer any useful advice but it's a great bass amp. I had the 300 watt Jubilee head, then located the matching 4x10 like yours, followed by the 1x15. I had it for quite a while. Great sounding setup, sadly I never got to use it live. Looked awesome all set up in my bedroom though! I *think* with the 600 watt head you need 4 of those 8ohm cabs to get all the power?
  17. Jazz bass pickups: I want meat, thud, thump, and heft, not pop, twang, fizzle and whimper. Ibanez necks: If I pay £500 for a bass, I want my woods worth thanks. Basses that would make much better coffee tables. Woefully unbalanced basses: bodies made from balsa wood with necks made from Kryptonite. Fender copies that cost twice as much as the real thing... If I want a traditional "P-Bass" I'll just buy the real thing by Fender with all its quirks, and save some money thanks.
  18. I must be the only hard rock bass player to have just learned the chart hit "Feels" for no real reason whatsoever.
  19. It is one serious bit of kit that's for sure! Superior to every other amp I've owned including other Marshalls. For its "only 200 watts" it sure packs a punch 👍
  20. Rush Limbaugh was Jim Morrison... possibly.
  21. Marshall DBS 7200 😍 Really would like a DBS cab for it, but this old Q- Max cab sounds the business for now.
  22. I had something along these lines last year. It is so frustrating! 20 years away from bands and gigging, I finally I had an opportunity to get into a rock covers band again. The supposed lead guitarist sent over a small set list of songs in December 2020, mostly simple rock songs with a couple of songs I didn't know so I learned them. The "band" finally got together in July 2021 for a rehearsal. I turned up with a list of 30+ songs including the list I was sent initially. Me and the drummer were the new boys and had never met , but turns out he could play well, was already gigging with another band, and he liked and knew a lot of the songs I had written down. We seemed to click which was good. However, the rhythm guitarist was a no show, the singer was a no show, and the guy who had initially sent his set list in December 2020 basically couldn't play any of the songs! He just hadn't learned them in all that time. He also thought that it was a good idea to waste the practice time plus mine and drummers money trying to learn said songs! What an utter waste of time and effort.
  23. This is my set neck and upper fret "access". I think they are just there for show. Even my long fingers aren't long enough to do anything up there. I don't care about higher than the 7th fret anyway.
  24. Currently I have one cheap bass and one even cheaper bass. If I could have afforded to keep my Gibson Les Paul just to sit and play at home and just generally admire I would have, but no use if it's not practical due to its stupid weight. Top quality all round though. My £200 Washburn B200 might not have the price tag or quality but I love it more, and it weighs less. It is definitely "the one" and would have to be prized from my cold, dead hands. I think that having an instrument like that is worth way more than any monetary value. My backup bass is an Artist P type bass which cost me £50 and was a brand new customer return... nothing wrong with it apart from being boring. 🤘
  25. I can do general setups ie intonation and saddle adjustment, truss adjustment. I am fine with replacing hardware, soldering pots and wiring with help of diagrams. I don't do anything with regards to fretwork though. Only I know how I play and how I want the instrument to feel in my hands. Also with so many helpful Youtube "how to" videos these days, there's really no excuse to not at least learn basic adjustments / maintenance.
