Steve, I've just looked at your Facebook page and can see the venue. That's one to avoid! I hope Dani is ok.

Jezz Steve, sounds like a right nightmare. I wouldn't go back. Luckily it doesn't sound like a venue we play in the Bay. As others have said its assault. I can see our singer shrugging it off, but his girlfriend, who comes to all our gigs would not see it the same way.

What this thread needs is a pole. Preferably a bargepole, so we won't touch it.

Plenty of us have a BF 210. I don't use mine at rehearsals, but it's more than adequate on stage with our drummer and guitarist who also goes through the monitor. Your Amp sounds like it will do the job too.

Years ago in a tribute band we had a Peavey PA with 2 x subs & tops. A sound guy we used suggested placing the subs together and yes it does work.

And behind the guitar solo. It's almost a bass solo itself.

We play small to medium pubs. Generally we put vocals, guitar and kick through all the time. In medium pubs I go through too but in small pubs I'll just go through the sub to reinforce the bottom end as my stsge volume projects enough out front. Vocals and guitar in the monitor, which is a single powered unit with extension speaker. Sound check by walking out front whilst playing and agree the mix with the singer who has a wireless mic. Mixing desk has built in effects, 3 band eq with mid sweep per channel, enough channels/ inputs. Powered tops and 1 powered sub.

What's your line up. Is it for just vocals or putting all the instruments through if needed. You'll need monitors too.

10 is way too much to learn and try and run through in a practice. I'm inclined to go with your 3, possibly 4 or 5 at the max.

After a few years break from NYE gigs we were offered one at a pub we play in Brixham a few weeks ago. Our drummer wasn't able to play due to work shift arrangements so we called on our dep drummer, our son, who was up for it. The evening went well with plenty of people getting into the swing of it. Met a few old faces and made some new fans. I used my Stingray through my TC Classic 450 and BF 210, with a DI into the PA. We played 2 x 1 hour sets, finishing at 11.45pm. After midnight we finished with that classic Christmas no. 1 Killing in the name. Had a great stage and FOH sound and watching everyone enjoying themselves made it a great night.

Even our guitarist loves it when GYOW gets to the chorus because of the bassline!

GYOW is in our set an is a great gun to play. The chorus is a fantastic bassline.

Last night was our work Christmas Do. After the main event a few of us went on to the Apple and Parrot. It was Wednesday jam night. One of my work mates plays drums, so we joined in for a few songs. One of my other work mates plays guitar but wasn't able to be there last night, so was a bit gutted to have missed out. A fun way to end the evening.

I can hear my Two 10 reasonably well in either mode, even in tight spaces. Not sure what your solution is.

The last time I played 2 x 45 minute sets in a pub was when they shut at 11pm! 2 x 1 hour is the norm nowadays.

My collection. Main amp is the Ashdown RM evo II. Before that I had the TC Classic 450 and haven't got round to selling it. For many years I had a TE AH200 and sold it sometime ago. A few came up at a good price so I bought another a few years ago.
