  1. Thanks. Excellent work. At last I now know after all these years. It's great to hear the original again. It always sounded like Satriani but nobody could put a name to it. Now with the power of the internet and help of BC we know.
  2. I've had a listen to some Steve Morse and Yngwie Malmsteen but no luck so far.
  3. Was than when you were in your Shoegaze band then Blue?😄
  4. OK, I need the BC collective to help me with a long standing dilemma that has bugged me for some time. The name and artist of a rock instrumental song from around the 90's. This started in the early 90's when a guitarist friend of mine, who l'm no longer in contact with, kept hearing this song on the Spanish radio. Eventually he got to record it to cassette tape. There was no mention of the song or artist name by the DJ after playing it. Eventually we learnt it and introduced it to our set in a band at the time. I have since asked 2 guitarists and they haven't been able to help. It sounds like Satriani but isn't apparently. I have tried SoundHound too but no result. I have uploaded to SoundCloud a recording of the song played by another band we formed for a one off show. It was recorded using a minidisc recorder with a fairly budget mic at the back of the venue. Hopefully someone knows of this song. I have had to use my current bands account for this but it's not us. Edit - Song no longer on SoundCloud
  5. Taken recently at one of our more cosy venues.
  6. Well done. I've just watched hammer to fall first off. Great stuff.
  7. Indeed. Works for me just fine too.
  8. We do the CCR version of Grapevine. I've played Mustang Sally many times years ago and just played what something that felt and sounded right. Had some fun with it as it's what the punters want but not in my current bands set.
  9. Hi and welcome to the forum . It's my local too. I spend far too much time here. You have been warned 😄
  10. The Telestrat. Yet another one for 'big hands.
  11. Maybe we need a pole for our height instead of us all posting ?
  12. Hi Mike. Welcome to the forum. There is a thread for our pet dogs here too. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/320196-dya-like-dags-show-me-your-dags/
  13. 6'-2" for me
  14. It's my Stingray with a mirror scratchplate
  15. Hopefully this works
  16. Steve. We play the queens arms too. It's a bit small. We mount our 15" powered EV speakers on the wall brackets provided which really helps. Although we are a 4 piece our singer stands out front and to the side by the door which leaves room for the rest of us. Im next to the door with the desk and my small TC head & BF Two10 rig. We don't use the sub here but the drummer does mic his bass drum up. We use 2 monitors as well I've played in smaller places including the Saracens Head in Newton Abbot. Here is a photo of us playing there in the next post!
  17. Awful news. Hope you get it back soon.

    Bas Bass

    Hi there. Great introduction. Welcome.
  20. Many years ago in the mid 90's I went to the Bass Centre as they had a sale on. I brought a lovely 2nd hand Aria Pro 2 SB600 for £150. I needed a gig bag to take it home so got a Bass Centre one of course. What a great day out.
  21. Although we have pair of 15" EV powered tops we also run a single 15" sub to really help with the kick drum and my bass so as to fill out the sound.
  22. Just got back from a dep gig. The singer and guitarist from my regular band also play in a punk band with a female rhythm section. Their bass player was unable to play so I offered my services. The gig was at our regular favourite venue and it was the landlords engagement party too. I quickly learnt 2 sets of mostly new songs for me and had notes discreetly behind PA speaker on a music stand. All in all a good gig and the show went on. We finished with a encore of 4 songs from our regular band with the drummer depping this time. She even did vocals on Sin City.
