  1. This is now on our list of new songs its a monster baseline which I want to get right as much as possible but is going to take some work. There are a couple of decent YouTube videos. I'll check the one posted here as well. Wish me luck!
  2. Stereotonics back in the days when Stuart Cable (RIP) was drumming. Plenty of cracking songs from the first few albums.
  3. I haven't worn a watch for many years so can't comment. If it works for you then great.
  4. What a tool. Glad you had a good time though.
  5. We play Mamma a Mia and used to play Does Your Mother Know. Both have fun baselines to play.
  6. The AH200 is a quality amp. Had one for years. No problem with it getting too hot.
  7. Hear Hear. Good call and some change too boot.
  8. The story is in Guy's book My Bass And Other Animals. Well worth read. I have a signed copy.
  9. There's been s thread about this series already https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/334668-tina-weymouth-bbc-bass-programme-in-jan/
  10. We have charged around £250 for social clubs which is about £50 more than the average pub. There are usually some particular times to work with. Unfortunately for us we have done 1 social club too many where the audience, or members!, are at the other end watching the sport on the tv so we aren't going to accept anymore as it not worth the hassle. Quality, not quantity for us.
  11. Hi there and welcome. Sounds like you have been busy on the bass alright. I have worked on some attractions in the Arizona Mills Mall near you - the Sealife Center and the Lego Discovery Center. I last visited when the Lego opened.
  12. I'd like to congratulate you on the over use of the word 'like'. Sounds just like our 19 year old son, talking, along with many other young people.
  13. I tune G, D, A, E. Although when I change strings I replace them and tune them E, A, D, G.
  14. I saw a bit of that and soon turned over. The Hyde Park show was much better and should be more like will be at Glastonbury and the Eden Project.
  15. Having owned various basses over my 38 years of playing bass my 92' 2eq Ray does it for me and is a keeper. It feels right, sounds right and looks great.
  16. I have a sterling sub as my backup and practice bass. Yes they arrt great for the money and I'm very pleased with mine. When I first got it and gigged with it along with my 92 2eq Ray it was noticeably different and even our drummer noticed the difference. It didn't quite have the Ray oomph but certainly did ok. If you are on a budget a sterling sub would do you very well indeed.
  17. Some years ago I solved my weak G string issue by pushing the pole pieces in so they were flush with the pick up. The G string gap is 3.5mm and the E string gap is 5.5mm. Made a massive difference for me.
  18. Bet it didn't feature the original bassist Craig who was bought out quite quickly after the made it?
  19. I won't be going to Glastonbury but will be seeing her at the Eden Project in July.
  20. Hi and welcome. I live in Devon too and always enjoy a trip to Mansons. Hugh Manson is always helpful and let me try out the John Paul Jones signature bass once which is very nice but out of my price range.
  21. Some years ago i did evening classes with a small group so i could learn how to sing. It was 4 part harmony and there were a handful of us for bass. I learnt to sight read when i was young for other instruments and that helped with the singing although my sight reading for the bass is not good now. As a result of the classes i then joined the Dartington Choir for a few years and performed some great pieces in a large ensemble in a fantastic hall. It is a great feeling when a large group goes for it.
  22. Been putting the bass drum through 15" full range tops for years and it works. The bass drum is the first to be lost in the mix so a little lift is what it needs. Now we have a sub and get that extra thump.
  23. I used to have an AH200. It was well loud and I never turned it passed 2.5 unless i played and outdoor gig. I eventually rack mounted it in a 3U rack unit with a TE UV light underneath. It looked the biz but weighed quite a bit. It was quite a while ago and can't remember where i bought the rack ears from but they were proper TE ones.
