1. I owned a Charvel 2B for around 29 years u believe. Bought it when they first came out in the late 80's and sold it recently.
2. Haven't done a Halloween gig for years. I can understand why it's big in the US, although it's just another import fronm them IMO. We've got on on bonfire night. Can't see us exporting that to the US!
3. I have emailed the guy asking what year it is, telling him where to find the serial number and how to check the date. Also mentioned all the other issues that point to it not being a genuine MM. Got a quick reply stating he will look into its authenticity. I also reported it to Gumtree too. I wonder how long it will be advertised for or if he will change its description.
4. I could easily be too loud with my Two10 as well. The guitarist with his 80w Marshall amp is always going through the PA, and bass drum too. I larger pubs we mic the drums overhead & I will DI for some FOH reinforcement. I have never turned my amp (TC Classic 450) past 4 and my sound cuts through just fine. Do not underesimate the power handling of these superb cabs.
5. I only have experience of the Two 10. Like you I'm in 3 piece and wear ear protection. I love my Two 10 and it sounds fantastic through my custom molded ER15's. It easy keeps up wit the band and I have had some great comments on my sound. I usually keep the cab vertical FWIW.
6. Sounds interesting. I'd like to check out the CD or digital HD when it's released. Any update on when that will be and cost?
7. Barefaced Retro 210 would fit the bill. I love mine and play in rock covers band. Have heard it pairs well with the MB 500 fusion head too. In fact I'm Gasing for one!
8. I first bought Flare Audio Isolates but the loss of top end was not good for me. Got some custom moulded Elacin's with ER15 filter through the NHS for £160. These are amazing quality and fit. It's like turning the volume down and the ER15' seem ok for now, although I'm considering the ER25's.
9. Callum bought my old Reflex Reds pups. Thanks for a smooth & quick transaction.
10.
Sounds like someone that has just been given a fretless playing over a you tube track to my ears, I keep listening to links hoping I'll find one I enjoy but it hasn't happened yet
That song didn't do it for me either. I first heard Jaco with Joni Mitchell but didn't know who he was till later. I have a lot of respect for him but that genre of music is not something I listen to. A shame he is not still around though.
11.
Apologies, on now but in Hexham near Newcastle, up North 👍
Why are all the best basses miles from me down in Devon. If it was closer my GAS levels may have risen enough to tempt a try out. Good luck with the sale.
12. Mmm. Very tasty. Might be worth saying where you are for those on mobile devices.
13.
Let me be the first to ask: "What's the weight?" Ooooh, me poor back!
I used to have one and it was incredibly light. So much to so that I queried it with the supplier and started av thread about it here. Sold it on later. Ok for the money.
14.
That's nothing to do with loud lower frequencies... just a sh1t soundman behind the desk!
Indeed. But the loud bass drum was threatening to rearrange my insides. My son who is a drummer says he hears about this problem a lot too.
15. I was at Silverstone this weekend. At the campsite the bands in the big top had loud bass drum and bass. The vocals were fine. The guitars were lost for the most part until the sound guy realised you need to hear their solos and slightly raised the volume. Overall it was quite annoying.
16. Hang on to a log that's in trouble. Are you mad? Can we trust it to support us safely?
17. I have played Guy Pratt's Betsy Jazz bass briefly at Mansons guitar show some year back. Got him to autograph his book I bought there. Not that obscure but I enjoyed it.
18.
Having our singer rephrase Robert Palmer's "Addicted to love" as "Addicted to muff" became a little tedious (and more than mildly embarrassing) after a while.
Glad it's not us then. We get the F Word as the substitute in one song and Mother F****** in another when the originals are nothing like that. Ho hum.
19. Ours like to swap certain lyrics for swearwords. Funny the first few times, years later the novelty has worn off.
20. Simple diagram thanks. Great to be reminded of the theory.
21. If you are up for it then simplify the set list abd baselines. Keep it simple and tight. Let us know what happens
22. Ours keeps asking the audience to sing along if they know the words. Years ago we videoed our band featuring a young female singer who between every song tells the audience to get up and dance. Didn't notice it at the time but it was a cringe watching it back we folded very soon after.
23. I do. My excuse is that i'm stretching them in!
