Let's not get too carried away. I'm not planning on trying to change how a long established event will be run. As my original question, I'm interested in how much to charge. As for the practicalities, if we do it we will camp there for free, take our own PA for our own use. Bass and drums will go through it and it will sound how it sounds.

The supply your own PA concerns us as our modest pub PA won't fill a marquee very well. I'm guessing they don't want to hire a PA and engineer for weekend, despite it being a better experience for bands and guests. Found this photo online from last year from the venue on the flyer. Can't tell what PA set up the band has but it's a decent sized marquee.

Some good replies thanks. They are organising a few around the country. This is s flyer for one nearer to home for us.

Thanks guys. We don't know if it will be indoors or a marquee, but wull heed advice on the power supply. It sounds a but low key if each act has to bring all their own equipment. We won't be supplying anything for others.

Following our successful gig last weekend for a Harley bikers private party at a local pub we have been asked to headline at a Rally next year but we are not sure what to charge, although it will be our fee plus expenses. I'm trusting the BC collective will be able to help? We'll look at the expenses which will involve travelling from Torbay to Southampton in a hired van. We can camp or stay at a nearby Travelodge. What would be a reasonable fee for our 4 piece band? Although there are other bands we have to bring our own PA, which is a bit annoying, but ok.

The headphone mode will cut the signal to the speaker.

I've fallen foul of the headphone button. Don't know why it's not at the front!

Played a party for the local Harley bikers last night. It was in a pubs function room that wasn't great for acoustic, but it was packed so ok. They enjoyed it and the singing along was quite loud in places. We've played better TBH. I hsve been having some problems with my amp that appeared at our last rehearsal that I think is due to my DI out that I'll investigate further today. I took my spare amp and that worked fine. It was the first gig eith our new backdrop that we are all pleased with.

Gigbags now. I used to have a hard case but it fell apart after many years of use and i never replaced it. I have a custom flightcase for my Stingray but haven't used it since our previous drummer used to take us all to gigs in his van. It's really cumbersome and coffin like.

Lots of options covered by itsmedunc, so take your pick.... I'll get my coat!

I use a pick holder on my mic stand and have a couple in there. Ok if you do vocals (I do backing). Otherwise a few in your back pocket? In one song I start with pick, then fingers, then back to pick, so store it in my back pocket.
