1.
welcome from Teignmouth! If you check out the used section in Mansons, there are some bargains to be had, I find Project musics bass selection pretty dire TBH
A friend of mine always gets good second hand amps and cabs at Mansons.
2. Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad you have seen the light and going for the bass. Enjoy it and the BC community.
3. Just get on with your agenda. Maybe she will feel like a gooseberry. Annoying though.
4. That's quite a set of problems. I have suffered from blocked up ears before and usually both at the same time or one then the other in quick succession. I did by an online ear syringe which is a small plastic bottle which concertinas in and out. It worked really well and first time to clear my ear after using some bicarbonate of soda drops to loosen the wax.
5. Blimy. Heavy as a pile of rocks then!
6. Wow. I was chewing over either a 210 or 212 some time ago and went with the 210, which I bought off funkshui here. No regrets as it a great cab and so small and lightweight. I can feel my GAS level rising looking at this baby.
7. If you are only using that cab then get the 4ohm conversion. You will be living in barefaced heaven. I'm blown away by what 210 can deliver.
8. Go Your Own way is a blast to play. The chorus is fantastic. Been in our set for a few years and always goes down well.
9. The dot to the left of the thread title will take you to the last post you read but will not skip to the last page or post. I don't think there is a way to do what you want on the mobile site.
10. I only have these for now. I'm due another hearing test soon and will discuss some moulded plugs as that would be the better long term solution.
11. I too ride a motorbike but use the generic foam plugs for that. Got a bag full which will keep me going. Not sure I would want to use expensive plugs on a bike. I'm using Flare Isolate plugs for gigging currently
12. They do not muffle the sound just cut the volume and some frequencies. My bass and the drums sound great. Had to get something quick after getting tinnitus at new year and these do the job for now.
13. I'll have to watch this thread. Bought a pair of the aluminium ones early in the new year and have used them a handful of times. Going with the medium tips and will purchase a set of spares anyway. For the price though they do a good job and really work for me.
14. Will fixing a wheel to the log get it out of trouble then?
15. There are 2 threads running about this issue. Doesn't seem matter what you are running as it can get through? I've had it twice and scans don't pick anything up. The advice on the other thread is to hold the enter key and close the browser page tab or browser. It will go then until the next time!

17. This PAT testing comes up occasionally. Is correct that it only relates to employers and equipment used by their employees. There is no legal requirement. It seems that perhaps some venues are getting pushed by their insurance for it. Has anyone challenged it and done the gig anyway I wonder.
18. Had a quick play with one at the LBGS recently. Felt fantastic. Didn't get to plug it in though looks gorgeous too. Could easily fancy one myself
19. Good luck with your sale. It looks great. I'm in Torquay too but will have to live with my EB Stingray. I won't succumb to GAS. I'm tempted with the new Ashbory bass that's just come out instead.

New Ashbory

Tempted myself. What scale length to go for though?
21. Bummer. If it was in the cone you could fix it but I'm not sure how easy it is to fix where you have holed it. Good luck
22.
"People buy people first". It's a phrase we use in selling. You need to get the guy to like "you" as people. He won't buy into a Web page. When applying for jobs ever wondered how many CVs attachments in emails never get opened, simply because the covering letter message didn't excited them? Now, you were actually THERE... You can lead him through it and you might get the job. As a band you can have a fantastic Web presence. You can have loads of 'likes' and testimonials. But if the customer is too busy loading in the beer and cleaning tables to go online then how good is that? Now if your drummer's pretty girlfriend was standing in front of him with a tablet of pictures and a smile on her face, would he notice? Can he completely ignore her?
Drummers girlfriend! Didn't know they had one. At the risk of sounding sexist, and I have heard tof this happening, if your band has a female singer you will get more gigs. Although I put this down to sexist mature of the landlord.
23. Interesting thread this. My story is that 2 years ago i had my 1st hearing test and have moderate hearing loss in the higher frequencies. i am borderline having hearing aids. Fast forward to the recent NYE gig and and the next day i experienced tinnitus for the first time. It has lasted for most of the month in varying degrees. I have been to the doctor and will be referred back to the audiologist for another hearing test and further examination. I decided to get the Flare Isolates in aluminum in order to get me though the next few gigs and see if they can help me. Well, what a revelation. I am really impressed with them. It's just like having a volume control in your ears. I could still hear everything clearly. No major loss of the high frequencies, which was my concern. Vocals and guitar in the monitors. Vocals were fine. Guitar generally good with the solos and riffs etc, although i had to listed out a bit for some of the other parts but that was to be expected. My bass and the drums sounded great. They will be used all the time now. I was a bit freaked out at first doing BV's as they are really loud but for the 2nd set i was ok with it. They are very comfortable indeed. The tinnitus has reduced down now to a very low level so it will be interesting to hear what the audiologist has to say. I took a dB reading on my phone during the gig where i stand and it was averaging around 90 with a the odd peak just above that. Lower than i thought but still plenty for an hours set.
24. Our 3 most popular regular pubs have already booked us for all of 2017, including NYE. One organises a local steam rally in August and we are booked for the first time. First gig this Saturday.
