1. Almost forgot about this thread too. Will the log keep rolling?
2. Really pleased with my padded cover for my BF Retro 210. Does the job projecting it in the car and in storage at home. Great service from them too.
3. Enjoy your cab and feedback after your gig. I have one and it is very clear and loud. Amazing for the size.
4.
Unprofessional, these bands usually go nowhere. Blue Indeed very unprofessional. Never saw anything of them.
5. Found out I was sacked when I saw the advert for a bass player in the classifieds. I phoned the singer and got her answer phone. left a message and got one back a few days later with an apology but no real explanation. I suspect it was the keyboard player / band leader who was a total arse.
6.
Ouch!
Indeed. It hurt at the time. This might take some beating but we'll see.
7. Most drummers I have worked with have been fine. Only 1 stands out as a tool but that was very short lived.
8. Bought a brand new EBMM Stingray 5 string fretless in the early 90's for a lot (can't remember the actual amount). I had to sell it to help fund a move abroad a few years later at short notice. Ended up selling it to a shop in London for about a quarter of what I paid for it.
9. The isolated track has recently be discussed http://basschat.co.uk/topic/285531-the-ox-isolated-bass-track-video-wont-get-fooled-again/page__p__3066429__hl__fooled__fromsearch__1#entry3066429
10. Mirror scratch plate like Phil lynnot of course.
11. Still available but now advertised elsewhere.
12. PRICE DROP BUMP Despite one of these selling recently on Basschat for £50 + postage it appears that a new one from the US will only set you back around £55 to £60 inc postage. As a result I have dropped the price.
13. Still available. Are people waiting for me to drop D price!
14. I have had this GB7 Gotoh style drop tuner for some years now on my Charvel bass. It was purchased from the Bass Centre. I am selling the Charvel as standard so this is being sold separately. £[s]50[/s] 40 including postage to mainland UK.
15. We always mic the bass drum, even in small pubs. It is easily lost if not. You don't say what PA you have but a sub just for the bass drum is a bit overkill.
16. Silent vocals? Don't think so. Although quieter than acoustic drums.
17. Do you know if he does this for ever band that plays and it's how he covers their cost. Never heard of this before.
18. My Stingray of course I have 3 other basses but they are used for practice and band rehearsals mainly.
19. Whilst travelling to our last gig I was running through Fire by Kasabian and I couldn't remember the backing vocals despite doing this song on and off ffor s few years. I had to listen to it on my phone in the car and barely heard what they are.
20. Our singer announces us at the end of whole lotta rosie, our last song, while we are pumping out on the final A. First drums, with a wild fill, then me on bass so I hold my bass vertically and push through the A string with my thumb to play just one note and giving the thumbs up to the audience. No solos for me. Then it's the guitar so he enhances the outro solo he is playing over the A. The singer then says his name, our name and goodnight. We then hit the last note. It's not long and works well over the final piece of the song. Shameless plug but go to our band's lemonrock site, link below in my sig, and play our cover of Rosie to see how we do it.
21.
Next time somebody says that ask them if they smile constantly when they are doing their job.
Can't beat that one!
