You don't need your own bass monitor. Small pubs can be a pain if you are right in front of your cab. Sometimes this isn't loud enough for you but will be fine out front. Get out front for the sound check so you know what you sound like there. If it's still not working for you on stage then there are other options available as mentioned or search the forum as this gets covered regularly.

Obviously I will listen to other bass players when seeing bands. I am always interested in their sound as much as their playing. Quite often I will thint wow I like their sound and want some of it. When we play I always sound check by going out front so know what I sound like. At the time there us always more than the bass to concentrate on and you can't indulge yourself in you sound. Then its back to the stage where it sound different. I have plenty of comments on my sound which is reassuring. Also when I let someone else play a song it sound great out front too. That's the bass sound. The actual bass playing comparison is a different story altogether.

Music for me too. Hardly know the lyrics but the melody is important.

I too have a Line 6 Backtrack bought from BC. Simple enough to use. Charged from USB. reasonable results for practises and gigs. One of the cheaper options.

On a serious note surely the OP can edit the thread title to omit the capitals as I suspect that gives the title some life?

I have had to push drunk punters away from my monitor and mic stand and will do it again if it looks like they are going to fall over it or spill drinks. The last time it was actually the landlady! On NYE we had a drunk older woman singing backing vox with a friend of ours. She was getting a bit frisky with me and after groping my crotch I told her to f**k off and shoved her off the stage. She was shocked but realised the seriousness of it. Luckily hardly anyone noticed but she knocked my A string out of tune.

Never heard of anyone building a Barefaced cab. You normally buy them from Barefaced direct Alex from Barefaced is a BC member and will not doubt post something soon. I have a Retro 210 which is great. Loud and lightweight. Used to have a heavy old 15" until recently. Good luck with your investigation.

This is turning into[i] My Basschat FEAR[/i] Mk2 (last post by Jazzneck 8th Feb 2015 on page 30 BTW!) but has a long way to go to reach that.

Joydee P copy in black with maple neck. Orange 120 head and Orange 4x10 cab. Looked and sounded the nuts. This was around 1984. The bass was stolen. A value went in the amp and I foolishly swapped it and the cab for some crappy H&H combo that eventually blew up. I had to start all over again and it took a while to get up to my Charvel and TNT 150 rig that I used for some years. I still have the Charvel but the TNT is long gone.

Even if you do not have specific insurance for your kit check your contents insurance. Some will offer cover for personal possessions or items up to a specified amount that are taken out of the house, although you will need to check if covers this sort of damage. Good luck.

Played 3 sets at the coach house in Paignton. Tickets sold out. It's our favourite local pub and last night was a belter. Fancy dress was very popular and all 4 of us went for it. A long night and my vocals and ears had enough by 1am. Took the effort to video it too which may be interesting looking back. Got to go and collect what gear we left now.

It's a great piece and was heard by millions of people back in the day of the Hamlet cigar add. The beginning should be in every bass players arsenal.
