1. Tapping, nodding, moving! Whatever next? I just stand there looking mean and moody like a bass player should.
2. He was on the one show. It's am old tune that didn't make it on album back in the day. Resurrected for now. Sermef ok but need to listen to it properly. Couldn't hear the bass properly on my tv.
3. I cut some strings down and aim for 3 winds.
4. Boosting the low mids is an option that comes up when thise is asked. It worked for me.
5. Stopped my subscription about a year ago. I now subscribe to Ride Magazine as I also ride a motorbike and get more out of that. Sorry to hear that it hasn't really changed much.
6.
Weren't the Kardashians the nasty aliens in Star trek next generation ? Particularly ugly devils they were too.
I have trouble getting past this every time I hear that name!
7.
I just point blank refused to play Alright Now Its the height of naff.
I agree too. Why are you playing that old dad rock tune for. Bin it and find another song.
8. Hi and welcome to Basschat. You are the 2nd German to introduce themselves today.
9. More great output from BBC4. Enjoyed each one.
10. Good to see one of these. I tried one out back in the day but got a 2B instead with the J pickup. The neck on the 1B was a bit chunkier I seem to remember but still a good bass. Charvel build quality is great and they really last. My 2B is still going strong although it's on its 3rd set of pups as I have changed them to activate.
11. Totally get all those. Will definitely be sharing.
12. British audio services in the US sell the uv lights. http://www.britishaudioservice.com/#!trace-elliot-bulbs/c26u
13. Been using it for years and all the family love it. We have the £4.99 monthly deal which works for us. Glad you have got on board with, enjoy.
14. Whole Lotta Rosie for us Sometimes we finished with Killing in the name. You can't really continue after that.
15.
Saw them last year on a heritage act triple bill with Go West and Hue and Cry. They were excellent and the singer (Gary?) has still got it. You also forgot how many great songs they had. I bought a copy of the 'Colours' cd from Amazon the day after, and it got some heavy rotation at home. Love the video! Is that Port Isaac? Looks like they walked past Doc Martin's house at one point.
Sure is Port Issac. It's near the beginning at 0.54 when they are walking down the path towards the main part of the the town. Doc's house is on their right.
16. We have them during our break in rehearsals. No need for a separate get to gather IMO.
17. We played 3 sets at a local pub we play regularly. It was a ticket only affair to keep the numbers organised. On NYE morning our son who drums was feeling really ill. Luckily our old drummer was available and stood in. He hasn't played with us from at least 18 months. Most songs were fine .a few interesting moments with some of our new songs but nothing we couldn't deal with Great fun all round. Fancy dress too.
18. One cover band i was in the singer used a stand and it looked really amatuerish. in my current band the singer makes notes on the set list for any songs he needs. Much more discreet. Like others have said, once you start you rely on the stand. Ditch it and which ever songs are a problem concentrate on practicing them.
19. Great documentary. I really enjoyed it. Catch it on i-player if you missed it.
20.
I thought it meant an Amp that was the dogs b****x.
Me too
21. It's a very tasty bass. Once when visiting Mansons I was eyeing it up and Huw Manson (JPJ's tech) got it down for me to try. Unfortuantely I had to give it back.
