Last night BBC South West Inside Out programme had a feature on Mansons Guitars. Hugh was showing some of his work for Matt Bellamy & John Paul Johns. Nick Beggs popped to pick up his double neck guitar / bass. It's on iPlayer and is the last feature of the 60 minute show, so fast forward to about 45 - 50 mins. Try British Audio Services. They stock plenty of TE spares, although a quick look didn't show what you want. You could contact them.

Another for full on or off on my basses. I set my volume with my amp. Depending on which venue I'm at it seems to either 1.5 or 2.5 on my TE AH200.

It's full on and detuned to Eb. I have an excellent transcription with tab from a guitar mag I can scan for you. Don't look at the tab sites. It will take you some effort to learn by ear.

[/quote] Much the same down here too. We have plenty of songs so the set generally stretch to 60 mins. The venue calls the times.

I have 4 and 3 are in gig bags and 1 is in a hard case. All stood up in the cupboard under the stars.

With our PA I go post and it works well. I'll always ask an engineer what they want and pre is popular. If you have an effects loop like me though they will not be in the pre signal so in that case I will run them in between my bass and the amp.

It would of been good to have had some more choice when deciding what to purchase. I have gigged a couple of times with my new EMG PJ pups and they do sound great.

Bollox. Just fitted some active PJ EMG's to my Charvel 2B. We already do paranoid and are working on War Pigs.

I recently put some EMG's with active circuitry in my Charvel 2B and prefer the PJ sound live and when practising.

I believe you should not transport an amp on it's side as the vibrations could cause components to work loose from the circuit board. Good luck with the amp.

As said just tune the E string to D. I have Hipshot D-Tuners on 2 of my basses for the odd songs that needs a low D. What songs are you playing. I assume you will only need the drop D for a few rather than all of them if it's just covers.

I run my tuner (on top of the amp) and my effects which are on the floor through the send / return loop. Makes sense really.

You can work without a set list, and I have done this in a previous band, with 2 guitarists and both could sing. It was left to the main singer to call the songs and [u]only[/u] him. We had a few songs that we started / finished sets and the rest flowed as necesary. You have 2 options. Leave the set to 1 person or make a set list before the gig. The music needs to flow for both the audience and the band. Good luck.

Which is the best bass to use though?

There have been a few threads on this if you search. I had the same problem. Fixed it by pushing in the pickup manget poles so they were flush with the pickup as they protrude slightly as standard. This enabled the adjustment under the G string to be raised and balanced with the E string. Might sound odd but it works great.

Bought myself some EMG active pickups with my Christmas bonus.

Sky did [i]Must Be The Music[/i] back in 2010 if any of you remember that. There was a short running thread on it here during it's 1 series. Sky didn't recommission it for 2011 due to poor viewing figures. Apparently only 370,000 tuned in for the final.

Hope you both had a great gig. My son is the drummer in our band after depping for a while. Brings a lot of youthful energy to it.

We were repeatedly asked by a big fan at a regular venue to do Tie Your Mother Down. After months we got round to it and it's a blast and really fits in our set. Another fan at another venue asked for Suffragette City which we did for the next gig amd was well appreciated. Most bizarre was at our last gig when after our penultimate song we were asked for Whole Lotta Rosie which is always our last song. So we obliged and didn't let on we were going to do it anyway.

Depends where but as I'm sort of midway between you 2 that's a possible yes from me. Could be something to brighten up a quiet weekend sometime in the new year?
