Quick responses thanks. I bought off eBay and paid once with PayPal. Cost was £51.95. Am aware they will cover return postage. I will check one out first and then contact them.

I would like BC opinions on my moral dilemma. I ordered a Fane Sovereign 12" speaker from a large company and the parcel arrived today. To my surprise it had 2 speakers inside. Do I keep quite and have it as a spare or fess up and tell them about it?
However Bjorkwind has had me fair p*ssing myself since I opened this thread
That was the one I found funniest too. -
I've never begged for a job before ..... but ...
mep replied to The Dark Lord's topic in General Discussion
I won't be begging for a job but you would have to beg me to go to one of their gigs. Saw them on Jools and read that thread too, -
I had considered that. Will look into it.

Yeah. More info for you all. Cab is sealed, as stated. minimum power handling to be minium 100w but most start at 200w so that's ok. I already have a 15" cab with a 600w celestion driver to keep me going so this topp cab is to enhance what that is doing. I like to get a punchy low mids sound going.

I have a pair of custom made cabs and the top one needs a new 12" speaker. I'm looking for an 8 Ohm speaker at a reasonabke price that will fit into my sealed cab of 49 Litres (1.7 cubic feet). I have had a bit of a trawl on-line but finding a suitable one for my cab is not easy and options are limited. Some possible options are: Celestion BN12-300S 8 Ohm Orange Label. Don't know if it will suit my cab. Also heard it's not that good either? Eminence Basslite S2012. Don't know if it will suit my cab. Beyma SM212. Don't know if it will suit my cab. here must be some others out the. Any recommendations please.

Anyone got a Spotify subscription ??
mep replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
I have the £5 monthly subscription which is great on all our pc's. I'm not bothered about the full £10 monthly subscription and ability to stream songs on our mobile devices. -
I changed channels within a minute of watching.

Yeah. Black Sabbath's latest album Thirteen is pretty good. Been doing the rounds in the car recently.
Just watched this - absolutely amazing!! Thought the bass sounded fine too(even on my ordinary LG flat screen TV). Bit of overplaying here and there but WTF? - this was ENTERTAINING, remember what that's all about? Great songs played brilliantly by a superb band, with a great brass section who actually joined in on some of the moves too!! If I had to criticise Niles' guitar was a bit low in the mix to begin with, but that got sorted after a couple of tunes. Thought the overall sound was excellent, best live performance on TV I've seen for ages.
It was much better after they sorted his level out. He was indicating during the first few song for a better mix in the monitors as well. With Chic you need the guitar and bass prominent and then everything else is the icing on the cake.

Pauls bass wad on Four Rooms in the last series but I can't remember what documentation came with it to prove it's authenticity. -
Sounded great through my headphones. Best BBC bass sound for a while. Bowie & Maddona songs weakest. Great funkin disco party stuff.
I also have an AH200 - aren't they bloody good, or what?
Still goimg strong and barely get's taken past 2!

Thinking about this topic again It can't be all that bad? BC has existed for quite some time before the competition started last year & I'm sure it will continue for a while yet with or without the competition. Although in defence of xilddx get out there, listen & vote. I am suprised at the number of compositions but equally suprised at how few votes there are - 59 to date!!
-
Well put. I have been aware of the competition since it began but only started listening to June's after the nude female bassist thread. I posted some daft comment which produce some more and received a reply from the OP which got me listening. The standard and quality is staggering. I will be listening and voting each month. I won't be producing any songs for it as I'm not in that zone anymore. Get to and and good luck to all you composers, producers and (especially) bassists.

Tasty. What was the filling, did it have Jam in?

Hi & welcome. Good to see another female bassist. Also good to see another BC member from Devon. I live in Torquay now but grew up in and around Plymouth. In fact I used to play a Marlin when I lived in Plymouth in the 80's. I can't remember what I did with it, maybe I sold it to your friends dad? I still pop down to Plymouth, not for the music scene but for the bike night on the Hoe during the summer. Always a good ride on the the local back roads. I too checked out your link and found the Jeremy Clarkson song very amusing. You should check out the monthly composition competition here. I have just been listening and had a very hard time voting. http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 Maybe consider getting involved with the Bass Relay too which is taking place. There are not that many involved from the South West. http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1

If you are not sure about it you can use it in rotation with your previous cab until you have made your mind up.
Good afternoon, mep... Now read this carefully, and I'll try to explain, in words of less than one syllable, my ingenious ploy here... Did you notice the cunning use of the word 'not' (I've raised it to bold, so as to make more evident...) in the quoted phrase..? This implies a negative, ie: there are NO such pictures in there. Apologies for the apparent disappointment, but if it's not already done... GET OVER THERE AND LISTEN TO THE TRACKS, INSTEAD OF ASKING DUMB QUESTIONS HERE. YES, NOW..! (...and don't forget to vote...) ...AND DON'T SLAM THAT DOOR... Helps..? You're asking us if that helps..? I'm not sure about your creative processes, but if you find it comfortable, then I don't see why not. Close the curtains, though, please.
My arse has been duly kicked I slipped out of the door of this thread without slamming it and went over to listen to this months composition entries. I have listened to the all and a few again. I am so impressed with what I have heard and have voted. I will be checking out the competition on a regular basis if this is what is on offer.
-
WOW. First listening for me for any of the competitions. I am seriously impressed with you all. I'm not sure who to vote for but will have to hurry up. Edit. Had to jump on the laptop to listen to Discreet's as I couldn't listen to it on my mobile. Listened again to a few I shortlisted and went with who captured me first time round. Good luck all of you.

Is an Aria SB600...single pup, passive, parallel neck?
mep replied to iconic's topic in Bass Guitars
I believe the SB600 is the neck set model. I have one and did a bit of research on it. Single passive pup and nice neck profile.
