No paint jobs or 80's hair (although did in the day). Thanks for your pointy support.
Some good info here from everyone. IMO your 60w combo will struggle as a backline unless you are playing something quiet or soft. What type of band are you? Either a bigger combo or decent active monitors will allow you to hear yourself properly. It will become frustrating if your FOH sound is great & you can't hear yourself on stage very well. You don't want to drowned out by the drummer. You may be one but now you are the bass player!
I'm on my mobile so can't paste the link to a post. In General Discussion there is a thread called what are you transcribing at the moment. On page 2 i posted the first part to wherever I lay may hat. It's tabbed & a bit limited as there is no rythm given but the bars and chords are show. If you know the song you will be ok. Enjoy.
I know what you mean. I have mine in a 3u flightcase along wit a TE uv light unit. It looks the biz but weighs a load more. On the plus side if safer to transport. You could always find someone hand with a sewing machine?
We have started to play Knights of Cydonia. I have mentioned to the rest of the band that it would be great if I played the harp piece that Chris Wolstonhome plays live. We have agreed it could sound great. Ok so he doesn't play bass & harp at the same time which sounds insanely difficult, but he plays both.
News to me. Saw the recent documentry and he had a 6 string behind him in his garden room when being imterviewed. Hope we get to find out. Entwistle had quite a collection.
I am always heard with my Stingray and the low mids boosted on my TE head.
If you want to know what you and the rest of the band sounds like then during the sound check get right out front. I use 2 leads linked with a double female connector just for that & then change back to 1 lead for the gig. It's a cheap solution top an age old problem.
Hope it doesn't give you the cold shoulder cos it' frigid! Sorry, had to said given the title of the thread.
Good luck with your dating though. Don't worry if it's too old as many a fine tune has been played on an old fiddle!
Welcome to the jungle by Guns 'N Roses. Great bassline that needs to be picked for max impact. Had a couple of run throughs so should be good for first gig in the new year.
Don't know about this version, but years ago a band i was in did the Fast Freddies Fingertips version. Sounds similar though. Wasn't too dificult i seem to remember, just keep up with the semitone key changes.
