  1. Looks fabulous as Cherry burst. A subtle difference to the Honey burst which I have. GLWS.
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum. Great intro. I can assure you your calluses will be built up soon so you can relax. I'm sure you'll find plenty here to wet your bass appetite. You can come and cry, we'll laugh about it with you and try to help. Good choice to move on from the guitar 👍
  3. It's certainly about who you are. In Guy Pratt's book My Bass And Other Animals he explains about his connections with David Gilmour and Madonna. DG told him good bass players are ten a penny but he wanted someone with wit. When Guy went round to audition he wasn't asked to play bass but try Roger Waters vocals for Run Like Hell. He got the gig. Madonna phoned him up and he had to make her laugh. He can't remember what he said. He got the gig. As we know Guy is an awesome bassist too.
  4. Don't wonder too much. It'll make your brain hurt.
  5. Hi Joel and welcome to BC. I've never been to TB but hear about it here. It sounds like you talked the talk but where made to walk the walk.
  6. Back at our favourite venue the coach house in Paignton. Penultimate song in the first set was Enter Sandman and to our surprise 2 old ladies got up to dance. Later I found out they were 78 & 82 and had come from the social club down the road as the band hadn't shown up. I quickly grabbed my phone force photosduring the middle section were i played open E. They were up dancing again later too.
  7. No one asks for any from us. We have done the Slade song once. We have played the classic Christmas number one Killing in the Name many times at this time of year!
  8. He's a Jazzer don't you know. Although all his fingers are on the D string so God knows what chord it is!
  9. From a visual aspect the wonky tuners and handwritten headstocks shout odd and amateurish. Why anyone would think thst looks good is beyond me. That would be a problem for anyone selling it on later I'd imagine.
  10. Played at our favourite venue, the Coach House in Paignton last might. Our drummer is on holiday in Tibet with his GF so we drafted in our son who was our previous drummer. He brought a good crowd with him and quite a few haven't seen him play before. We played really well and had a great sound. Plenty of singing along and some interesting dancing by some punters. A great night. Always good when he deps for us.
  11. Nice one msb. Similar look and vintage as mine.
  12. Not his worst. He's settled into Telecaster necks with Sharpie signatures and those lopsided tuners.
  13. Did anyone offer to P on your bass when it was on fire?
  14. Great for playing Burning Love by Elvis.
  15. Still more reports of people paying by PayPal Friends & Family!
  16. Johanna Soderberg of First Aid Kit. Although I'm more taken by her and Klara's vocals than the bass.
  17. Quite a few posts are just replacing a letter. Maybe another thread is needed?
