  1. Elton kicking off in style with a great band. First Stingray I've seen, and he's wearing a hat too.
  2. Back to the coach house in Paignton, our favourite venue. The power cut when were setting up. It transpired that one of our powered PA speakers internal fuse blew. We tried a spare and that blew too. Luckily the pub has its own old Vox PA in the corner. We rigged it up as a stack to one side and connected it to one of our desk outputs. A bit of tweeking and we got a good sound. We had to cut a couple of songs from the first set and played well. Next problem us getting it fixed as it's a class D powered. On the way out there was an incident just up the road from the pub with the police and ambulance in attendance. When I got home the air ambulances flew over and apparently flew the person to Plymouth.
  3. Not sure what this is supposed to be about? This is where the link takes me.
  4. Most of these can go in the basses on settle thread!
  5. Go for it DP! Looks like you had fun. Good to see a bass player smiling. Love the rock out bit with the guitarist at 1.50. Now you've got the taste for live playing will there be some more?
  6. It was a pleasure to attend his masterclass at the London Bass Guitar Show. A real eye opener.
  7. Nothing to do with bass, but this got through!

  16. Hi and welcome. Get back into bass, tell us more?
  17. A few gigs ago I was setting up my rig and was ensuring all was well before the band sound check. There was strange distortion sound from my rig which was slighty annoying. I wasn't sure if it was my speakers, BF 210 or my amp, Ashdown RM500. I couldn't hear it with the band going so no problem for the gig. At home I tried to recreate the problem and found out the onlytime I could hear the distortion was when I had my hearing aids in as they can't handle the low frequencies! I now take them out when setting up my rig prior to putting my earplugs in for the sound check and gig.
  18. No, only Stoner Rock.
  19. Mrs Mep and a friend visited the Exeter branch today but weren't let in as they had a staff shortage. This was just after they let 3 EMO kids out and nothing to do with that they were 2 50ish women, as that is what they felt!
  20. I have a similar 1991 model, but with mirror scratch plate and string mutes. The honeyburst is a lovely colour to behold.
  21. On eBay recently PP is no longer a payment option so used Google wallet instead.
  22. Another shameless post of me, Betsy & Guy. A great bass, a great guy and a great read.
  23. It'll be great to see some more top bass players get the SBL treatment and do the string change challenge! You'll stand more chance getting Pino than John Deacon who is even more suuuuuuper private.
