I have had a listen and you sound good. I went to vote and it took me to Facebook. I am not of Facebook so can I vote or not? The RTR site says the band with the most likes will get the slot. To register your 'Like' it looks like you need to do it via Facebook, or am I missing something?

Hi There. You'll find plenty of usefull (and not so usefull) info in this forum, as you have already found out.

Took some getting there but managed to sort the social side of my profile out and I have subscribed as mepsted (my surname and spotify account name). I will start checking out some of the tunes later with the cans on but the list looks good so far. Some tunes I know or know of, others I haven't heard of yet. Good idea, lets see how this develops.

I have not experienced any volume drops with mine. I run it with a battery at practice and a Frontline multi supply adapter at a gig so I can run my other effects. I use both my Stingray and Aria fretless. I have oct 2 off and oct 1 and the mix around 1 o'clock. I have been getting some positive responses at gigs latey due to the ocatver giving it some!

Too be sure, many of his basslines will give you a work out and are fun to play. Intermediate level is about right, but that is not dissing Chris for what he does as he does it very well, and does BV's over them. If you want to take it easy stick Feeling Good in your set. We have and it's a blast.

Years ago I had the same Orange rig as you. It was fantastic and looked the nuts. I played my Joodee precision copy bass (black with maple neck) through it for a while. I was inspired by The Jam who used Orange back then, with this being the late 80's. Got the lot for £200. I still have a band recording of me using that set up with just a line out from the amp, and what a sound! Then there was a strange sound. Looking back it was just a valve going. I thought it was something more serious. Being a young inexperienced prat I traded it for some H&H combo thing that soon blew up and was no more. Soon after my bass got nicked. It took me (what felt like) ages to get a good set up going again, settling with a Charvel and a Peavey TNT150. I am envious of you and know what a blast you will have playing with this if you get the chance again. I still fondly remember my Orange days.

Hi & Welcome to the forum. I'm from the south west to, just a bit further south & west in south devon. I've done a few gigs in Cardiff some years ago in a Stereophonics tribute band. Can't remember the venue name but was always a blast.

I don't know about basses but a radio report highlighted that most price hikes at the time of increased VAT were in excess of 4%

I used to use Rotosound rounds years ago but had some issues with the E string so ditched them. After using a few other brands I bought some R45's, the nickel on steel roundwonds without the coloured windings as they were cheaper. To be honest they are pretty damn good for the price. I wanted to try something different from steel roundwounds without going to far - ie flats and these do for me now.

Not something I have though about for a long time. Worth getting to grips with as it really helps. I can imagine it's not easy if new. Good luck.

Get a cheap 4 channel mixer and mix your bass and the music before it gets to the amp. What a stupid error to make. There are many postings on this thread that show up the editing errors. I almost feel like emailing them. To be fair I think it is pretty obvious from Alex's article that the horizontal axis is Hertz and the vertical axis is Decibels? I think they still have too many high end equipment reviews, and I am getting board at yet another bass scholarship article. They must have an advertising deal going with the institute or something?

They usually get worn out or lost.[/quote] Another +1 for these picks. They do it for me with about a third of our set containing picked rock / pop / punk stuff I'm very comfortable rocking out hard. As mentioned before get the wrist action right as well. Find some good pick excercises and do them as well, don't just blast through songs.

Our son deps on drums. He was due to play on our last gig, but was ill. Our drummer was going to a party. We cancelled in the end as our guitarist had been ill. Unfortunately we don't have deps for our singer or guirtarist. I could get 2 or 3 bassists to dep for me if the need arose. As we are all family men we don't book gigs over half terms, Easter or in August so we can get away without the hassle of cancelling or getting deps for gigs
