1. If you have a multimeter you can measure the resistance of the speakers at the socket.
2. Hi & welcome. Hope you find what you are looking for here.
3. Nice one. Every musician with an electric instrument should get to grips with a soldering iron. If it's not your bass then it's some lead or connection that needs fixing.
4. Buy a 2nd hand Trace head and the cab of your choice. With my Series 6 AH200 & 2 cabs I'm frequently told I'm too loud with my output volume on 1.5 or 2, which is all I can ever play at for gigs.
5. Our drummer has a basement for all his kit so we practice down there. It's not too loud and his family are ok with it. There isn't much headroom, so both he & I sit down. The singer and guitarists are short arses so they can stand up. In the past I have done just about all the other options, but it's now that counts.
6. Great start to a thread. Sum's it up well. I an a convert too after purchasing a 2EQ Ray from a friend some years ago. He said he had one for sale. At the time I wasn't thinking of buying another bass. I had it on load for some gigs and just fell in love with it. Have never looked back. Glad to hear you are a convert, now you need to fully prove it by changing your avatar showing you with your Ray and not the Fender!
7. Audacity all the way for me. Windows media player will slow it down but you can only play it slow, not record it or covert it.
8. Very nice. Still got my late 80's Charvel 2B in black and love it. Someone buy this as you will get a bargain. Good luck.
9. I see he has feedback from selling 3 other items, hopefully for less postage! Who is going to send him a message asking about postage costs then? With just under 2 days left I'm suprised no one has yet!
10. Some years ago I joined a local soul band. We had a few practices and it was ok. Strange bunch of people, especially the keyboard player. The practices easied off after a while. One day I saw an add in the paper for a bass player and recognised the number of the singer. I phoned up and got her answer phone. I left a message for her and got one by return. She deliberatly left her message when I was at work so she didn't have to talk to me. She grovelled a bit and said they didn't think my feel was right for them! I was miffed to say the least, but soon moved on, hope you do too.

Helloooooooo

Hi & welcome to the forum. Can I be the first to comment on your bands name. Inspired by a certain Oasis album per chance?
12.
How's the signature model coming on - I heard there were copyright issues when they wanted to name it the Fender Precision Muller Lyte!
LOL. I think you have him in a Muller Corner now! This is one of the the most amusing threads I have read for a while. I will be keeping a eye on this while it runs, and enjoyed getting Mullered!

What sudden and sad news. He was one of a few who had PM'd me. He had seen our video and was interested in our set as he was planning a similar project. We exchaned a few messages and had a bit of a laugh within them. He seemed a top bloke. My condolences.
14. Have you tried pushing the pole pieces in yet? They will end up flush with the pup as your thumb is larger than them. They will go in, even though at first you may not be sure. You can then adjust the height for the G string. Job done. It worked a treat for me and has given my 92 Ray a completely new lease of life!
15. Check out this thread. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=78473&st=0 It worked for me, following some advice from Funkgod I got the pole pieces flush with the pup and set the height right with the pup in place (see my post on page 3). Also try a different tone with you amp.
16. I used to take 2 with 1 for a backup, but have got lazy lately and now just take 1. I always keep a spare set of strings in my bag just in case. On the subject of changing between songs in a live situation it's probably not worth it, except in my case I sometimes need my fretless. I have installed Hipsot D tuners to both my fretted basses, so which ever 1 it take it can cope with the set.
17. I've an old Series 6 AH200 that I've rack mounted with the UV light. It's the dog bits. Loud and clear and plenty of tone. My cabs are custom but have a celestion 15" and a top cab. The sound is great and flexibility with the cabs is important. They don't weigh a ton. I've tried a full TE head and 15" cab lately at a gig and was blown away by the overall sound. If you can get the full monty go for it. There were some later smaller 15" cabs that are good. The SMX range is awesome aswell. Once you've tried them it's hard to leave them.
18. 2Eq What about your amp? I've got a Trace GP12 so I can play with the mid Eq as much as I like, and what a difference to the sound!
19. Don't remember the order but it included You shook me all night long by ACCD, Babylons Burning by The Ruts and of course Smoke on the water by Deep Purple.
20. Hi welcome. First lesson, first forum as well?
21. Hi Get stuck in to the forum.
22. He's up there with the best of them. I've not heard what he got up to since finishing with Queen and retiring. He hasn't done interviews. Can anyone shed some light on his post Queen life?
23. A Marlin. Don't remember the model, but it was a total plank. My precision copy had been stolen and this was my (cheap) replacement until I got my Charvel.
24. Synth bass! Where do you stand with it? At the back out of the way
