Had a great gig at our favourite venue, The Coach House in Paignton. We played well and had a great sound. Plenty of people in including Satans Slaves having a birthday party.
Laney CXP-X110 active wedge monitor does the job for me. Our drummer has an extension speaker off it for him. Plenty loud enough on stage with 2 x backline and acoustic drums.
Our band setup is similar to yours. Only guitar and he goes through the PA. Initially we bought 15" active EV tops as the drums were going through and this worked OK as we only play pubs. Our new drummer has a sub so the kick drum has more oomph now. These can cost so of you find a good second hand one then great. For monitors look for some cheap active ones that can link together. You won't need to get too carried away with size or power for your set up if they are good quality and only used for vocals and maybe a bit of guitar. ×1 For good quality cables etc.
I can't see Macca's set on iPlayer. I didn't stay up to watch it all due to the 1 hour delay, which I find odd by the BBC. Hoping to watch the remaining today?
He's still wearing his shorts! Bumped into him near Minehead a couple of years ago. We watched him enter and his exposed legs were the first thing we saw coming through the door! Didn't recognise him till he sat down near us. Mrs Mep had her photo taken with him and I had to crop her out before sharing.
